Breaking: 50,000 Soldiers Miss Convoy.
Edited on Wed Aug-18-10 07:02 PM by onehandle
Will Stay At The 'International Zone Holiday Inn.'*

*formerly known as the Green Zone American Embassy.

On edit. I am not blaming Obama. The blame is squarely on Bush/Cheney. No President will ever be able to remove our troops from active duty in Iraq. We still have 50,000 troops in Iraq and they will continue to die there for a long, long time.

31. actually...
just reported on TV... the remaining troops INCLUDE soldiers to back up the Iraqi Gov't forces if they're called upon.

So... believe what you may but this thing ain't over. Anyone who calls this thing "over" might just as well call it "Bush's Victory" lol...

3. Lame.
Really lame. Apparently, you are unaware that we still have 50,000 troops in Germany as well. We also still have troops left in Japan and South Korea. As Richard Engle reported, the remaining troops will be doing office work and training.

Maybe you should educate yourself before opening your big mouth and sounding like a fool.

by the US government.

Maybe you should educate yourself before opening your big mouth and sounding like a fool.

Edit: I will also point out, the governments left behind in Japan and Germany are self functioning and stable.

23. No, we were at war with NoKo, but we still have 50,000 troops in SoKo.
So by your reasoning, that must mean we're at war with South Korea.

27. No, by understanding of history, we were never at war with South Korea .................
Our forces in South Korea are there for once purpose and one purpose only - to deter North Korea from attacking South Korea.

See, unlike you, I understand the nuance of deployment of US Armed Forces throughout the world. I spent a year in South Korea with two rotations on the DMZ.

And as far as your argument concerning Germany and Japan: They fully functioning governments that are self sufficient along with a police force that doesn't go AWOL every time someone turns around. And as I am sure that Germany and Japan's governments are no more dysfunctional than ours, that's more than I, or the Obama administration, can say for Iraq's. And here's a more important point, we do not have armed and combat hardened "private contractors" running around and trying to keep the peace, and hunt down the terrorists that Iraq war created, in Germany in Japan.

28. It's just words.
It's not the same as Commander Codpiece and his banner. That was an outright lie.

It's always great that when troops come home, but they will continue to fight and die in Iraq for a long time.

Obama is working with what he was left with.
