Where is the Live Aid concert for Pakistan?
Wouldn't it be nice to see Americans step up to the plate on this and counter
some of the hideous coverage that the anti-mosque news is getting?

3. We should have but maybe with the mosque controversy the possibility of
Anemic contributions is too significant.

This whole controversy is nothing but bad news. Now I hear they barely scraped together $5 million to buy the property and haven't started to raise the $100 million. Yet raising funds for a community center seems crass in the true need of the Pakistanis.

4. Not being snarky but,
charity begins at home. Until we've taken care of most of our own damn problems first, I don't think we're being selfish. We have floods, oil spills, hungry people without jobs, homeless families.

I'm getting just a tad sick of other nations not doing their fair share to help third world countries and those who experience natural catastrophes.

Just sayin...

9. Not paying a lot of attention, are you?

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/38710445/ns/world_news-south_and_central_asia/

The United States has so far donated the most to the relief effort, at least $70 million, and has sent military helicopters to rescue stranded people and drop off food and water. Washington hopes the assistance will help improve its image in the country — however marginally — as it seeks its support in the battle against the Taliban in neighboring Afghanistan.

"So far, if anyone has practically given us maximum help, it is America," Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said Saturday when a Pakistani reporter suggested the U.S. has done little since the crisis started.

10. The US media have been far too quiet on the floods.
:(

Here's how to make a difference, though:
