The Whitehouse should host a giant welcome home parade for
the troops returning from Iraq. Bands, soldiers, happy families etc.

I think August 28 in Washington DC would be a great day and venue!!!!!

2. Um, they're headed to Afghanistan
Planning on hanging up a "Mission Accomplished" banner? He argued for Iraqi reductions so he would have the troops to escalate the war in Afghanistan. Might not be such a good idea to be throwing parades while we are still escalating a war.

7. Why would the poster, a liberal poster, go to a Glenn Beck rally?
Are you calling his Republican or Freeper?

12. Families will be welcoming home loved ones. Iraqis will be
handling tough engagements meaning fewer Americans in harms way.

Certainly it is "over" the way that Korea is "over" but when my fatehr came home from Korea, it was over enough for us.

13. Well no, "librul purists' and Freepers are not the same
I have no idea why you would say something like that.

16. Liberals and Freepers are not the same, but often difficult to
discern in criticism of this president. Difference could be put this way. President Obama says, "The sky is blue".

Freeper says, "No it's not, you're a lying, terrorist loving Muslim. You are horrible!!".

Liberal Purist says, "Not blue enough, you've let us down! You are horrible!!"

17. My concern is celebrating while folks are still there
It could be real bad to have a parade when he is still sending folks off to war, and people are actually still fighting and dying in Iraq.

But I guess that kind of concern and sensetivity makes me a Beck loving freeper or something.

8. K and R
This is a start having all combat (offensive) troops leave Iraq is a positive move. Many thank yous President Obama. A plan to end an occupation starting in 1990 needs to be the next goal.

21. In the first years of the war in Viet Nam
the term the government used for our troops was "Military Advisors".
Yet whether we were called 'soldiers' or 'advisors', the 59,000+ of us who died there were just as dead , and died for no good reason.

It is amazing to me that anybody today would fall for the same outright bullshit that those in the VN Era fell for at that time.

Lincoln was right! You CAN fool some of the people all of the time!

amount of its citizens. leaving toxic DU that produces deformed babies and cancer, cancer, cancer.

the world would hate us even more if we celebrated that.
