PolitFact: "Promise Kept" for Obama's removal of combat brigades from Iraq.
Begin removing combat brigades from Iraq

"Barack Obama will work with military commanders on the ground in Iraq and in consultation with the Iraqi government to end the war safely and responsibly within 16 months."

7. Talk about straw men... You seem to be the master at propping those up.
Try again. Try reading Obama's pledge in the OP. Then read the PolitFact write up, and their conclusion that he *kept his promise*, along with supporting evidence.

9. I can read. My straw man is made out of the quote from your OP:
He promised "to end the war safely and responsibly within 16 months."

So again I ask, what war ended?

12. I'll say it again - I'm giving President Obama credit.
I hesitate to say the war's over, but reducing the number of troops from 140,000 to 50,000; keeping them on base instead of patrolling and provoking and getting blown up by IEDs, and in general getting the violence level down significantly from what it was; that is indeed real progress.

As long as Obama continues to keep his promises, and has the remaining troops in Iraq moving out next year, I give him kudos.

However, Afghanistan's a real disaster... Time to bring the troops home.
