1. I didn't know about taking the steps to get antibiotics out of livestock feed.
It's an example of the many small issues that need to be addressed but get lost in the larger issues like the economy and war.

4. A good reason why bloggers are truly the new media
You don't find out things like this from listening to the corporate media.

13. There is a lot of good
underreported information on the blogs, especially the ones following certain issues closely.

6. Me neither, and that's a big deal to me. The thought of eating all
the antibiotics and other chemicals fed to livestock is nauseating, and very unhealthy.

11. I didn't know this either/ Kudos to the President for recognizing and
having his administration make regulations on it. Now they should look at hormones and do the same.

18. Interestingly, I heard about that one from my local NBC news affiliate. The national news orgs
didn't cover it at all on the TV.

9. Our government is leading the green revolution??? hahahahahaha
Edited on Fri Aug-20-10 07:26 PM by Go2Peace
We have to recognize where we are or we never get where we need to be. We are so doggone far behind where we should be and missing incredible economic opportunity. That is not all Obama's fault, our entire society should be demanding a greener future. But it was a surprise to see that being touted on this list. It's simply not the case.

As for the link it does look like Obama has *expanded* the existing program. But these efforts have been programs from years back, and not near where we should be. It is certainly not up to calling "leadership" and certainly not a "revolution" in terms of moving forward with Green technology.

12. "As for the link it does look like Obama has *expanded* the existing program. " No
it goes beyond that US commits nearly $2bn to two solar power companies

Also, the President introduced fuel standards for cars and is preparing to release new rules for heavy trucks.

The President is also backing the expansion of new technologies.

It's leading by example in this country.

16. Not a "Green Revolution". It's tinkering around the edges
It may be all he can do right now. I just object to spinning what is being done into something much greater than it really is. We had enough of that with Bush. We need honest assesment and analysis of where we are and what needs to be done. And these programs are

SIMPLY NOT a GREEN REVOLUTION

I will be surprised if you admit that though.

(and now comes the SPIN response in 3...2...1.... :applause: )

Most of it's too boring and most Americans would yawn and turn the channel to that stupid New Jersey reality show.

Such is the state of our country.
