Americans have shorter memories than I thought possible
The End of Playing the Bush Card

A new Public Policy Polling survey finds that just 50% of voters now say they prefer having President Obama in the White House while 44% would prefer George W. Bush.

Analysis: "Given the horrendous approval ratings Bush showed during his final term that's somewhat of a surprise and an indication that voters are increasingly placing the blame on Obama for the country's difficulties instead of giving him space because of the tough situation he inherited. The closeness in the Obama/Bush numbers also has implications for the 2010 elections. Using the Bush card may not be particularly effective for Democrats anymore, which is good news generally for Republicans..."

1. Have you taken a stroll through DU lately? Not a day goes by that someone doesn't post a
thread about how Obama is the same as Bush (not the same as Bush on a specific policy...just the same as Bush.)

11. What you see as a big mess most simply see as the status quo.

12. You are entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts
as such to suggest an economic condition that was described as a crisis, was simply "status quo" is simply WRONG.

7. The problem isn't the comparison of Obama to Bush, the problem is that people forgot how bad Bush
was.

9. Actually
a gnat knows not to go back to the place from where it was swatted at the first time. It just finds a different light source.

6. It's not bad memories it's the non-stop and dishonest attacks coming from the far right
and sadly from a good number on the left. With so much disinformation out there (even a good amount here on DU) many people will "forget" the facts.

8. I think you're right
The constant barrage of attacks eventually sink in.

Obama needs to give up this bi-partisan fantasy land and start attacking back.
