Siena College Poll--NY Governor: Cuomo (D) 56% Paladino (R) 32%
new Siena College poll in New York shows Andrew Cuomo (D) with a huge lead over Carl Paladino (R) among likely voters in the race for governor, 56% to 32%.

Key finding: 59% of voters have an unfavorable view of Paladino and 61% agree with the statement that he "is a loose cannon, who doesn't have the temperament to be governor."

Said pollster Steven Greenberg: "With four weeks until voters go to the polls, Cuomo remains in a very strong position to be elected New York's next governor. Cuomo leads Paladino by 24 points among likely voters in a head-to-head matchup with both candidates on three ballot lines. Cuomo has a huge 70-17 percent lead in New York City, a strong 54-35 lead in the downstate suburbs and upstate voters are nearly evenly divided with Cuomo having 45 percent support and Paladino 43 percent."

1. Recommended. It does look as if New York voters
will choose Andrew Cuomo in this one.

Which is by far the better action, given the base level of cruelty in Paladino.

11. Then by god it sounds like your family is doin' it
right, vaberella.

Have to agree on Mario especially -- we lost an enormous opportunity when he opted out of the 1992 primaries on that wintry night.

2. 32%, fucking amazing. What does this guy have to say or do to get
the numbers he actually deserves?

4. The more I see of this kind of thing, the more I'm convinced
that somewhere in the neighborhood of 28 - 35% of this country is batshit crazy, and they're attracted to the Paladinos and Palins and O'Donnells of the world.

5. They asked if he was a loose cannon? He is, but that sounds a little too close to..
a push poll for comfort.

Anyway, yeah, I never thought Cuomo would have much of a problem with this clown-- he's another Teabagger curiosity who should be going down in flames.

8. Last week Scarboro ...
had cherry picked a poll showing it closer than any other poll, and he was doing that glimmer in the eye, swarmy arrogant thing saying "everyone has this as a give me for Cuomo, but he is not the shoe in people want him to be ..."

The bobble heads then proceeded to obediently follow in line for the next 15 minutes about how Cuomo was in trouble ...

The next day the news broke aboutr Paladino's going mental on the reporter, and the morning after that they showed the clip, Joe made one simple statement about how Palidino was out of line, the bobble heads nodded and they moved on within 2 minutes ...

9. Glad Cuomo is ahead, but he could be more labor-friendly.
There is absolutely NO WAY I am voting for Paladino, but Cuomo could do better. I have always voted along the Working Families Party line, which has almost always had the same candidate as the Democratic Party (Spitzer was on in 2006). This year, Cuomo did not seek their endorsement, and he has called for freezing wages of state workers, etc.

I will be voting for Cuomo, though, with the hope that he changes his outlook after he assumes office.
