Obama to campaign in Oregon
For John Kitzhaber for Governor. I am very glad about this, so I thought I'd post that fact.

1. Here's the Oregonian's article on this...

Helped with some phone duty for Kitzhaber last weekend and hopefully will get some time to do some more this weekend.

Also, two other Oregon congressmen that could use your help are Pete DeFazio and Kurt Schrader who are in some fights too. Not sure if Obama speaking for DeFazio would help as much, as he does still have a bit of a lead, and though the GOP is heavily targeting him, they are trying to depict him as a clone and a "rubber stamp" of Nancy Pelosi, even though he has a heavy independent streak that many of us like here. Obama speaking for him might work more against him than for him in that context. But you can tell that the right wingers definitely want to try and get DeFazio out much like they are going after folks like Feingold in the Senate.

2. I'm voting for Kitzhaber. I'll skip the Obama visit,
unless he's coming to talk about firing Arne Duncan and appointing an educator to school him on education reform.

3. Good news!
I hope Obama will have a big rally before the election in Chicago to help the democratic ticket. The Senate race is considered among the closest in the country and the governor's race has been showing signs of getting closer
