very inestesting email from NM Pearce
maybe you read Huffington Post about Steve Pearce run for 3rd district in New Mexico.

Question about President Obama's Birth
At the Sept. 30 event in Los Lunas, New Mexico, a woman stood up and asked Pearce if he would "be agreeable to subpoenaing and making him show a birth certificate." "Because if he is not eligible, because of everything he signed, every bill he signed, every executive order, his czars, our whole government, everything we're doing is invalid and unconstitutional and illegal," she said, adding, "I just want to know what is your position on Barack Obama if he is in fact a Kenyan-born, Indonesian Muslim. What is your position on all of this?"

In his response, Pearce said that were still "significant questions" surrounding the birther issue:

PEARCE: You bet. Let's take it backwards first. My position is that Barack Obama raised the most significant questions himself. He said, after he came to the U.S., that he traveled to Pakistan. Now at the point that he traveled to Pakistan it was not legal to go there with a U.S. passport. And so he, himself, raised the greatest questions. I think that those questions need to be asked.

Now, then, my question would be to you all at what importance, what importance? You can typically fight two or three major battles in a year, major, and for me, if we don't get our economy going, nothing else works. ... I'm content to let the courts handle that and it's my understanding the Supreme Court is actually looking at this question because I think it's an important question. But I absolutely believe that Barack Obama raises the most significant questions himself.

if you want to whole story check this http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/10/06/steve-pearce-obama-birther-questions_n_752475.html

I emailed to Steve Pearce that I said "Obama is our President. He born in Hawaii period. And Hawaii is our State too, Do you have a problem with Obama's birth?"

He mailed me back he said
Harry Teague’s liberal allies at The Huffington Post are attempting to
make an issue where none exists. Obama’s citizenship is not an issue in
this race. He’s the duly elected President and I respect that. This
election is going to be determined by who is creating jobs not blog
stories. I will create jobs and cut spending. Teague won’t.

1. Good on you for emailing him
Of course, he blames his opponent for what he said, that's the standard response. But at least he knows someone is paying attention.

2. Pearce is a jackass , but you already know that
But I am profoundly thankful that the state's repubs nominated him to run for Senate instead of the slimy but much smarter and slicker Heather Wilson. She, I think, could have given Tom Udall a serious challenge, and I'm sure glad Tom is our Senator instead of her and I knew it would be a cakewalk for Tom over Pearce. I saw that Pearce is up in one poll by 4%, and the east side is pretty right wing ( and Teague is really pretty damn conservative too, but certainly not out on the wacko fringe like Pearce), and I wouldn't be surprised if he wins. But anyway, typical lies and distortions of his own statements by Pearce. Of course, who would expect anything else from a repub? Good for you for calling him out on it.

3. Is it even believable that the Pubs wouldn't have found this during the
election? Do these people really distrust their own peope so much that they think a man could have run for election for over two years and neither the Pubs nor the Clinton campaign wouldn't have found a problem?

My hubby keeps saying msot of Americans are just stupid! I disagree with that, but damn, it's getting harder & harder to fight his statement.
