Breaking: It will officially be even!!!
I have decided there is NOT going to be a higher puke turnout...Turnout will be about even, nothing historic will happen, we will keep Congress!

I have read all the pollsters crap: I am 100% sure they all want better ratings/readership/viewership numbers, they are going for the drama, there won't be any.

Take this to the bank!

We will lose some key races here and there, but there isn't going to be a wave of anything.

Turnout will be about even!!!

8. You would be amazed at how many Republicans have already voted.
The RNC has been sending out absentee ballots to all the registered Republicans. The ballots are all filled in for them and all they have to do is mail them back.. Oregon has had vote by mail for well over a decade and they have some of the highest turn out in America, plus it is mostly Democratic.. The really neat thing about vote by mail is everyone likes it. Conservatives, Liberals and even Libertarians....they all love it..No big GOTV needed...

3. The problem is there are many old school republicans who are appalled with the teaparty people.
They are going to stay home. Dems outnumber the teapartiers... but I agree GOTV is better than doing nothing.

I was phone banking in FL yesterday to people who have their mail in ballots sitting in their hands. These people know very little about any candidate.. and everyone is pissed of at big corp and govt collusion.

4. I hope you're right...
...but I fear you're wrong.

Just because you don't want something to happen doesn't mean it won't happen.

6. You realize if turnout is even we lose a lot of seats right?
We have so many more House and Senate seats, that if turnout is pretty close to even the Republicans will still make big gains.

The Republicans gaining something like 38 seats in the House would make it about even - we'd nominally control the House by a vote or two. The Republicans gaining like 9 seats in the Senate would make it about even - we'd nominally control the Senate with the VP's tie breaking vote.

Even turnout can still produce a staggering number of losses.

Another problem, the strongest support for the President is amongst the African American community and that tends to be very concentrated. It's no problem in Senate campaigns, but can be problematic in House elections.

7. I doubt it will be even
I know there are many first-time voters in 2008 that won't be voting. I know of no Republican that isn't motivated and can't wait to vote. Unless you mean that there are more Democrats out there than Republicans to make up the difference? Makes sense then.
