If you are interviewing someome to work for your company
and they tell you that they hate your company, why on earth would you hire them?

Yet, we have people running for government office who tell us that they hate the government and would like positions within the government to destroy the government.

I don't get it!

Why would you want a position that allows you to destroy the position you are running for?

6. To wreck the company, of course. Earliest example I could find:
James Watt

In 1980, President-elect Reagan chose Watt to be his Secretary of the Interior. According to the environmental advocacy group Center for Biological Diversity, for over two decades, Watt held the record for protecting the fewest species under the Endangered Species Act in United States history. The record was broken by Dirk Kempthorne, a George W. Bush appointee who, as of August 27, 2007, had not listed a single species in the 15 months since his confirmation.

Some Quotes:

“We don't have to protect the environment, the Second Coming is at hand”

“My responsibility is to follow the Scriptures which call upon us to occupy the land until Jesus returns”

7. Lies
They lie about the hate, they want the power, they only hate the part about them not being in charge, comparing pols to real job applicants doesn't work. We laugh about campaign lies, we accept them as a joke, and according to them they really don't lie, they mis-speak...

11. In fairness to their idiocy, they don't hate the government
They think it should do a bare minimum, just what the Constitution literally says. They just fail to realize it is not longer 1790 and that things have gotten a bit more complex. We don't have that agrarian society any more.
