which should be just as interesting and infuriating (the latter while listening to Rand Paul and Ron Johnson, two peas in a pod).

4. So he wins the debate, but how many votes will that get him?

When it is done those who were going to vote for Feingold will, and those who were going to vote for Johnson will. It is getting out the vote that will matter and if Feingold has not built a good enough reputation with state Democrats by now to get out and support him in a tough race, then I don't think winning debates will matter much in that regard.

Feingold is awesome in a debate. He's quick, smart and very articulate. I can't wait to see him in action tonight--and I can't even vote for him!

Winning a debate does not necessarily translate into winning any appreciable number of votes. Most who watch are simply rooting for their candidate. Not many minds will be changes. Off year elections are about getting out the vote and not about changing great number of minds.

Standard political strategy. If you are up on your opponent don't give them any chance to gain ground on you. Johnson can only hurt himself with the debates and help Russ. Most politicians (except maybe Russ) would do the same thing if the roles were reversed.

Johnson didn't want to disclose his secret corporate supporters. Perhaps he should be bombarded with demands for disclosure via Facebook & Twitter.
