"Teabaggers" in the Senate - Coming in November
Edited on Tue Oct-12-10 11:21 AM by PopSixSquish
So which of these stellar candidates actually makes it across the finish line in November? And how long before each has a complete meltdown because they have no fucking clue what to do next? For purposes of this post, I've only listed those folks who the media normally identifies as T'bagger candidates and not the normal knuckle-draggers who are either running for re-election or stepping up from the House on the GOP side.

AK - Joe Miller
KY - Rand Paul
DE - Christine O'Donnell
WI - Ron Johnson
CT - Linda McMahon
NV - Sharon Angle
WV - John Raese
FL - Mario Rubio
PA - Pat Toomey
UT - Mike Lee
CO - Ken Buck

1. That list gives me the shivers.

Have you seen the movie Idiocracy? I can't help think of it faced with the realization that these people might be running the govt. It's a scary road to go down but it seems Americans don't much care; they'd rather watch reality TV and vote for people who belong in one.

I know I didn't answer your question...too horrible to even consider.

2. Most will get in...
O'Donnell and McMahon will lose...

The rest have at least a 50-50 shot at winning....some are shoe ins(Lee, Rubio)

4. Personally, I think four sneak in.
Rubio is almost assuredly in (with Crist and Meek splitting the anti-Rubio vote), Joe Miller is likely in (REALLY hard to run a write-in campaign, especially with a last name like Murkowski, and I really don't know how much better she'd be anyhow), Mike Lee is CLEARLY in, and I think either Rand Paul, Ron Johnson OR Toomey sneak by.

Coons should easily get past O'Donnell, McMahon will go down, Reid will SNEAK by Angle, Raese will lose in a squeaker (with "Hicky-Gate" having a small impact), and I think Bennet will JUST get by Buck.

Conway is a strong candidate and is gaining on "Ayn" Rand Paul, Feingold is coming out swinging and there's still time for him to pull it out, and Sestak also appears to be rising lately.

So, I think our BEST case is that only 4 get in, and our worse case has about 7 getting in. Either way, not fun...

5. It would be nice if the media would stop "mainstreaming" those kooks
Other than Rachel Maddow and Olbermann, the rest of the media acts like these are reasonable candidates.

7. i don't really see how they could be worse than the current GOP senators

esp. Sens. Kyl, Coburn, and Inhofe.

perhaps they'd even be more willing to cross the aisle on some issues - more persuadable as they're more naive and not so solidly representing the plutocracy. i can't think of what those issues might be (something punitive and cost-cutting?), but theoretically. VERY theoretically.

8. O'Donnell is out - poll came out today and she's behind by 19
Obvious Delawareans realize that she isn't us. I was a bit worried when she hired those guys who did the "Demon Sheep" ad for Fiorana out in California but her ads are nothing but a giant size epic fail.

What worse her latest claims because she didn't graduate from Yale or inherit millions she's one of us. First, the ad not only describes Chris Coons but also describes George W. Bush (also graduated from Yale and inherited millions). Plus with so many gadzillionaires running as teabaggers - she looks even more stupid with that ad.
