24 hour news cycle ... so fast ... attention span so short .... focus on what's happening today and not what we need long term.

What will really matter 20 years from now are NOT the things being talked about on cable or on the Internet. I need to make sure we STAY focused .... education, R&D, etc.

But I've been surprised at how couragous some of the members of Congress have been on some of the tough issues (ha! is he good or what?) ..... a lot of folks took some really tough votes, knowing it was bad for them politically, health care reform, etc. folks who voted for financial reform even when they knew it would attract big foreign ads against them (did I MENTION how good he is?)
