Biden: 2010 election more important than 2008
By Jordan Fabian - 10/12/10 04:51 PM ET

Vice President Joe Biden appeared at a campaign rally Tuesday and told the audience the 2010 midterm elections are more important than the 2008 contest that got him into the White House.

Speaking on behalf of Iowa Democratic Rep. Leonard Boswell, Biden urged supporters “to get our base out. If our base gets out, we win across the board," according to a pool report.

"We have worked too hard, folks, to walk away from this," he went on. "We have to buck up. This election is more important than the one where you elected us. We have finally turned this supertanker around, and it is headed home to port."

Biden and President Obama have gone to great lengths over the past several weeks to fire up the Democratic voting base, which polls show is lagging behind the GOP in enthusiasm.

1. It blows my mind that every day I come to DU and see a new thread about who should be the VP in 2012
We already have the best VP. He is doing an amazing job at Obama's side. He's supportive, challenges Obama, and he is able to connect to everyday people. And he is not afraid to say what needs to be said whether it's about Afghanistan or Rove.

Thanks for posting this :)

2. I was very unhappy with Obama choosing Biden.

I don't know what's going on behind the scenes, but he's doing a great job as spokesperson for the administration. And I think his "gaffes" have been strategically smart.

3. Just curious; who did you prefer at the time? I can't even
remember who was in the running.

4. I don't remember having a favorite.
I didn't want Biden or Hillary.

I think I was hoping for another Midwesterner like Kathleen Sebelius to make a strong play for the region. Kind of like Clinton/Gore did for the South.
