If I understood the story on All things Considered (NPR) tonight,
all the corporate money going into the races is starting to backfire, at least in some districts. Seems that while one or two lies may get traction, people start to get suspicious when the lies pile on and turn up at every commercial break.

2. I'm getting curious because I live in a Congressional District that's
Tea Party Central, and the local weekly used to run filler written by the John Birch Society. You can't imagine how disgusting the editorials by the local columnist are. Still, the paper has been running front page articles pointing out that the mailers attacking the Democrat running for re-election as state senator contain inaccurate information (Liar, liar pants on fire!) and that no one can find out who is sending the mailers. The trail keeps ending up at a drop box in Virginia.

6. Make sure you write a LTTE of the paper thanking them for the coverage.
This sounds like they are doing the right thing this time. Tell them you appreciate having the truth come out---and even before the election. Wow. We always get coverage after the fact here. It goes something like "Candidate who waged a war of lies wins election".

3. I sure hope that's the case. The truth is, if citizens would just wake up...
...it would be impossible to steal elections through ads.

4. In California I believe Meg Whitman has used close to 140million
of her own private money. Brown is well ahead and continues
to be. Angle has spent 14million so far and has not closed
the deal against Reid.

To me this at least money does not gauarantee a win. I think
people at a point recoil at the idea of people buying elections.

5. They've overplayed their hand. It serves them right to have it backfire. nt

8. Total BS
Fox "News" viewers and hate radio addicts never get tired, or suspicious, of lies.

9. That's a given, but we're talking about those in the middle, the
folks whose votes determine the outcome of elections.
