1. Yes it is a bullshit poll, and this should motivate Democrats and progressive to get out and vote
It is so obvious that the media is part of the problem

2. BS article, rather, as if Sidoti had not read the stats she published.
Edited on Sun Oct-17-10 08:54 AM by Mass

_76 percent of Obama voters say they will support the Democrat in their House district, while 8 percent plan to back the Republican and the rest are undecided.

_71 percent of McCain voters say they will vote for the Republican in their House district, while 9 percent plan to get behind Democrats and 20 percent haven't chosen a candidate.

So, more dems are ready to vote for Democratic candidates than Republicans for Republican candidate and this is the Dems who are in trouble? Really? :banghead:

It is the first time I read such a stat, and, if it is reflecting something real, it is good news. But it certainly does not support the title.

6. This deserves it's own OP.
It's another example of a pundit yelling "the sky is green" when a quick look out of the window will prove them wrong.

3. If President Obama and Former President Clinton defy conventional wisdom
and not loose the House or Senate they will be viewed the greatest campaigners in American history

4. The text of the article contradicts the headline.
Headline: "Poll: Many Obama 2008 supporters defecting to GOP"

Second paragraph: "...one-quarter of those who voted for the Democrat are defecting to the GOP or considering voting against the party in power this fall."

But further down in the article (where it quotes actual numbers): "76 percent of Obama voters say they will support the Democrat in their House district, while 8 percent plan to back the Republican and the rest are undecided.

8% ≠ 25%, and 8% is not "many".

Also, with a 4.4% margin of error, this poll is fairly useless. They'd have gotten a more accurate reflection of voter opinions by throwing darts blindfolded.

7. Breaking: Democrats are defecting to the GOP
Edited on Sun Oct-17-10 09:13 AM by ProSense
Among the survey's key findings:

_73 percent of Obama voters now approve of how he's doing his job, 13 percent don't approve and 13 percent have mixed feelings. Nearly half have a very favorable impression of the president, down from two years ago, when two-thirds felt that way.

_40 percent say they're frustrated by his presidency, 20 percent say they're excited, and 26 percent say they are proud — a marked turnaround from Election Day 2008. Still, 59 percent say they remain hopeful — a reason for optimism as Obama gets ready for his likely re-election campaign.

_30 percent of Obama voters say he is living up to his promises to change Washington, while 19 percent say he's breaking those promises. Half think it's too soon to tell.

Breaking: More Republicans are defecting to the Democratic Party.

Guess what: The 8 percent and 9 percent are consistent with the crossover votes in the 2008 Presidential election.

As the election draws near, expect the GOP shill media to show their true colors.

9. It may be a crappy poll, but I think that phrase is the writer's, not KN's.
Knowledge Networks uses probability sampling to construct a nationally representative sample, which is similar to a "traditional telephone polling method."

In order to comply with the standards and practices of the polling professional organizations (AAPOR, CASRO) an RDD telephone sample would include a cell phone subsample.

However, I haven't found a link to a methodology report for the above referenced survey so I can't comment how the sampling for this poll was done.

10. The Associated Press is in full blown propaganda mode these days.
So I am sure you are correct. There were a couple AP "news" stories posted yesterday that used such negative and pejorative language about Democrats that they sounded more like opinion pieces.
