We can be glad that Ken Buck is slow on his feet
During the debate on Meet The Press he was asked about his view that being gay is a lifestyle choice which he defended, then Senator Bennett was asked if that made Buck extreme. Buck could have said, "How extreme can that view be if Valerie Jarrett, who Obama picked to be his ambassador to gays, holds the same view. That is why what she said is so idiotic, well it is one of a host of reasons.

2. and I don't believe her
If she really didn't think it was a choice she wouldn't have said the words and she certainly would have corrected herself immediately. Instead, she corrected it only after she got called on it loudly.

3. Why don't you volunteer to help Buck. Maybe spokesperson. The hate and vitriol
spewed at the Obama administration on this board is out of line. I think DADT should be repealed immediately, but I know Congress has not passed a bill to repeal. I do not agree with everything
the admin has done, should I be advocating against them??? It was easier to have a republican in charge so that we could band together and complain. Maybe you can help to see that come to fruition
so that we will have a common enemy.

4. so it is hate to quote the words they spoke
No gay person made Ms. Jarrett utter those words. No gay person appointed her Obama's ambassador to gay people. They did this all on their own. Obama and Jarrett made this mess not gay people. But being Obama supporters means never accepting any possible criticism of him no matter how honest and fair it is.

7. It is b.s. to say that Valerie Jarret and Ken Buck are the same or hold the
same views. She misspoke and apologized for it later. I am not saying that I agree with everything the administration has done, but it is neither fair nor honest to compare Jarret to Buck.

9. they don't beleive the same when it comes to rights
but they sure do believe the same thing when it comes to if it is a choice. One can believe being gay is a choice and still think gays deserve rights as apparently Ms. Jarrett does.

This obsessive bashing of the administration is getting old. What party do you really support? Seems like this post is a thinly veiled defense of Ken Buck.

but of course that is evil to say. why don't you just call me a faggot and get it over with. That is your real problem this gay, faggot won't bow down to you.

11. I don't think defending Republicans is suitable here
REPUBLICAN Ken Buck says something wrong and you turn it around and make it the administrations fault? What sense does that make? I'm trying to find the logic in that.

12. so it is wrong when he says it
but if I point out, accurately I might add, that Ms. Jarrett said the exact same thing, it is hate speech. And I am the one whose logic is lacking? Sure, I am.

13. I would think that her record counts for more
Ken Buck is an unrepentant, far-right hack, Valerie Jarrett is not. Is it really that hard to believe that she phrased what she said wrong? She apologized, I'm sure Ken Buck won't do the same.

this was a particular turn of phrase that is used by evangelical christians and is well known as such.

If you think President Obama is bad, just wait until you get her. I should add that due to some personal reasons, I have all the cred in the world to speak out on this.

It wouldn't matter to you, but I am on your side minus that hate. These two people are so far away from eachother on the spectrum and that fact that you are so angry that you can't see the difference
is painting you in a corner.

MORONIC viewpoint, and I would submit this awesome link entitled, "When Did You Choose to Be Straight?" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJtjqLUHYoY). What if she held that belief (as fucking STUPID and blind to scientific evidence as it is), but still worked toward equal rights and equal protections under the law? And what if she learned to change her viewpoint toward the "choice" matter? Or, what if, she TRULY just misspoke (although, I'm sorry, people "misspeak" FAR less than they claim to)? Isn't that still FAR better than some mother fucker like Buck, who holds that belief and CLEARLY would work AGAINST equality?

I'm straight, and I am of the mind that I have no right to really say one way or the other how my LGBTIQ brothers and sisters should feel about it, but it just seems to me that we're ALL too quick to demonize friends of our movements just because they say something REALLY fucking dumb, or before we have all the facts (not in this particular case, but Van Jones, anyone?). I submit this as an honest question.

Look at Ms Jarrett's record on LGBTQI issues, then look at Bucks? You know Jarrett has been a good
supporter of ours yet you take one statement and blow it up. Then you take Bucks record and try to
tie it to Ms Jarrett's Shame on you.

25. He truly could have deflected the whole thing with that comment.
Whether it was correct or not - it would have given the media the little handhold they always need to equate one side's outrageous comment with the others'. As of now, Buck's campaign is reeling because of his comment, and they've still got nothin'. What a dope.
