DNC raised $11.1 million in first 13-days of October
MONEY WATCH – NO LETTING UP: The Democratic National Committee raised $11.1 million in the first 13 days of October, according to a report the DNC will file Thursday. That puts the committee well on its way to outpacing the almost $17 million it will report raising in September – an impressive sum that’s nearly a million dollars more than the monthly haul the DNC initially announced. DNC communications director Brad Woodhouse puts the numbers in context: “As the President has been traveling the country firing up voters, and as the Republican plan to take us back to the failed policies that nearly wrecked our economy has become clear, our fund raising has taken off. And, while Republicans are scaling back their field and voter contact efforts, we are spending more than ever on efforts turnout normally reliable midterm and surge voters.”

PLUS – WHAT IT PAYS FOR: The DNC’s putting up a new ad as early as today, hammering away at the message that shadowy groups are trying to “buy an election.” “All from secret donors,” the ad warns. “What’s not a secret is why. Republicans and their corporate buddies want to be back in charge.” http://bit.ly/9wOFEP

1. Nice. The Obama Administration are attacking the GOP's "corporate buddies". Great move!

2. From whom?
"The Democratic National Committee raised $11.1 million in the first 13 days of October..."

From whom? It's a dangerous game to raise that kinda cash, and then spend it asking who is trying to "buy" this election.

4. Are you comparing the DNC to the Rove-type no names given
for donations? That would be pretty weird to do.

5. I'm not
But if the DNC goes out and makes a big deal out of where donations are coming from, and what it is trying to "buy", someone is going to look at where THEIR money is coming from. It only takes one or two questionable donations to color the whole effort. Remember Gore's problem with the whole "Buddhist monastery" donations. It was a pittance in the larger scheme of things but we heard about it for months.

3. Now the DNC can help elect more Conservadems while progressive Dems get shafted again.
If only that money had been donated to an organization that helps elect true Democrats.
