On Presidential approval ratings.

I did a little calculator work here this morning. I averaged the presidential approval ratings of all the presidents since I was born. Eleven of them. Average approval rating was 43%.

So Obama has consistently been above average so far.

What's more interesting is that if you take in account that congressional approval ratings also consistently below 50% you might start to think that Americans, in general are never happy with their elected officials. Even though we like to brag that we have the greatest system of government in the world, we don't like the results very much.

So if you ever get the feeling that politicians secretly think that the voters are jerks, they might actually have a point.
