The Republican Swindle About 'Obamacare and Stimulus' -Huffington Post
This article provides some good material to use in comments to articles on media websites. DUers PLEASE go to one or two media sites and post some rational comments to counter the idiots posting there.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/bob-cesca/the-republican-swindle-ab_b_770692.html?utm_source=DailyBrief&utm_campaign=102110&utm_medium=email&utm_content=BlogEntry&utm_term=Daily+Brief

If you happen to be a swing voter who's considering the Republican slate next month, you're being tricked. That's not to say you're an idiot, but the Republicans are doing an excellent job masking over what they really stand for, and millions of Americans seem to be falling for it.

The Republican strategy for this midterm election is simple: Treat voters like easily manipulated hoopleheads. The GOP and its various apparatchiks are spending untold millions of dollars, much of it from anonymous donors and, perhaps, even some illegal foreign donors, in order to play out this nationwide swindle. They're investing heavily on the wager that Americans are so kerfuffled by the slow-growth (but growth nevertheless) economy that they're willing to buy any line of nonsense as an alternative solution.

Regarding that nonsense, just about every GOP solution and every GOP idea reveals either a hilariously obvious contradiction or an utterly transparent hypocrisy. Say nothing of unchecked awfulness like Southern Strategy race-baiting or bald-faced lies. But it doesn't seem to matter much because they've buried most of it under heaping piles of inchoate outrage and fear. Just like always. It's not unlike the 2000s all over again. They're engaging in the same bumper sticker sloganeering and myopic agitprop, but with updated content for 2010.

If you've seen any of the Republican TV spots this cycle, you're probably familiar with the focus-group-tested duet of fear: "Obamacare and Stimulus." For example, that infamous John Raese commercial featuring two not-West-Virginian West Virginians in full "hicky" regalia discussing why they're voting Republican. Among the reasons: "Obamacare and Stimulus." No specific reasons why those items are evil, they're just two scary things the hicky guys are pissed about.

1. The problem the papers that print "letters to the editor"
that lie about the Health Care Plan are all accepted. But when you want to post a rebuttal they won't give it a shot in the papers. I just for the life of me do not understand why people are against this Health Care Bill. It should be expanded, but that won't happen unless the Democrats get a bigger majority and those in majority are real Democrats.

But, why are people against providing Health Care to those who did not have access to it before. There are a lot of Americans that now will be able to get Health Care for themselves and their families. What kind of people are so callous that would rather see our citizens die, in order to push the republicans. The thing is, most you are screaming and peeing and moaning have no idea what the bill is all about. All the know is the republican liars and tea bag screechers who tell them they have death panels. That the bill will cost billions, when the Finance Committee has printed and said over and over that in the long run it will make money. I don't understand the mentality of some of the American people. Again the problem is people like Rush, Beck, Palin and the current republican S.O.B's out to fill their pockets with insurance company cash who tell these lies. The Democrats missed the chance to make this a fair election as long as stopping the lies when they didn't regulate the right wing absolute, positive liars.

3. who bothers with letters to the editor. Just about every media site accepts comments to articles.
Here's a link to an article that appeared in yesterday's USA Today. Comments: over 1,400. A lot of people objected strenuously to the title of the article.

Tea Party favorites challenge status quo

here is a sample:

"Fewer people are falling for the title of this article. The Koch brothers, Murdoch, and Dick Armey are the furthest from being challengers of the status quo. The attack ads, corporate front groups (Iike the "Coalition to Protect Seniors" scam), and 'tea party' brownshirts are well-exposed. The tide is turning. They can't even buy the elections."

2. Sadly....what's weird is that Huff Post was helping along said Repubs with misinformation.
Now that Dems seem to making ways into making a sweep they switch sides. Sad state of affairs.

5. I didn't expect this kind of response from a poster.

Basically my comment means that HuffPost has in the past run articles that help the GOP in manipulating the people. They are after all a media entity as well. I don't think I need to post said articles since any of them can be found on their site.
