AK-Sen, Dem Win Could be a Disaster for GOP Says Cornyn

by akmk

It looks like Democratic Senate candidate in Alaska, Scott McAdams, has gotten the attention of the Republican Party, the corporations, and the national media. (heh, heh)

First this week the Alaska Federation of Natives (AFN) canceled the scheduled candidate forum for Alaska Senate candidates. Apparently the corporate leadership didn't want to chance having their members hear Scott McAdams talk about Tribal sovereignty, his support of Native language and culture in schools, and his plans to help reduce energy costs in rural villages.

It would be a "disaster" for Republicans to lose the Alaska Senate race, Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) said Thursday.

Cornyn, the chairman of the National Senatorial Campaign Committee (NRSC), said it'd be a poor sign for the GOP if a split field led to Democratic candidate Scott McAdams winning the state's Senate race.

"Frankly, that would be a disaster for us, if the Democrats won Alaska," Cornyn said during an appearance on MSNBC...

McAdams has now raised over $1 million, mostly from small donations from regular folks in Alaska, and even Miller and Murky supporters are having a hard time finding anything negative to say about him.

Just want to say a big thanks to all who have helped with this campaign--with your positive comments, with your donations, with your diaries.

Two weeks to go. Let's bring it on home.

Yours truly,
A rural Alaskan who strongly supports McAdams

Glad to see people still fighting.
