Could Thomas now be impeached for perjury?
Surely there is enough proof now that he lied under oath.
Oh the joy of being rid of him!!

1. Oh, pshaw
You suggest that a RETHUGLICAN would be held accountable for his lies, his actions, his reprobate nature?

Surely, you jest.

:sarcasm:

4. I can't understand how the impeached Clinton for telling a lie about sex
and the lies Thomas told were about sex also. So the would let him go. Hell no...impeach the bast**d.

10. They impeached Clinton for lying in a court of law
Edited on Fri Oct-22-10 09:39 PM by golfguru
He was subpoenaed to testify in Paula Jones sex harrassment
law suit. It does not matter on what subject matter you are
caught lying in court, it is perjury, sex included.

I just wish he had told the truth. I could'nt care less about
his sex life. What I cared about is that he created 22 million
jobs and balanced the budget.

13. Not quite.
That case was a civil case, not criminal and the sex questions had nothing to do with the case at hand. You and I could have lied and got away with it under the same circumstances. They were after Clinton and would have impeached him for singing off key in church.

14. Does not matter what kind of case it was
civil, criminal or other. The fact remains one can't
lie under oath in a court. It does not matter if the question
is about money, sex, politics...

16. Yes, it does matter.
They can't just anything they want on any subject. It has to be related to the case at hand. Civil cases have more relaxed rules.

18. I will tell you what
If I am on the stand in a court, I ain't taking chances
about if the question is relevant to the case or not...I WON"T LIE!

In Clinton's situation, he should have just confessed about having
gotten blow jobs from a slightly plump intern. And settled out of
court for a few thousand dollars with Paula Jones. That is all Paula
was after...a few thousand dollars. It would not have affected Bill's
marriage. It all came out anyway with the blue dress and all. And Bill
and Hillary remain married.

7. If We Aren't Willing To Charge Dubya And Cheney With War Crimes.......
....what does Thomas have to fear---lying, incompetent, embittered, Limbaugh-worshiping horndog that he is? God, I miss the times past when the Democratic Party actually had some guts and was willing to take decisive action on the basis of principles.

We owe his bizarre wife a vote of thanks for shining a shameful light on him once more---and for confirming what a class act Anita Hill still is after all these years.....

but the process is deliberately difficult to the point of near impossibility.Stinking idiot should never have been nominated, much less confirmed in the first place. His "defense" was the proverbial "race card"; "uppity black man"/"high tech lynching"...more like a clown with 2 working synapses. His confirmation hearing was a travesty. He lied, he berated women all over the nation and is an arrogant slob.

A pig of a human being, and that's being "generous".

17. Robert Perry: A Perjurer on the Supreme Court
http://www.consortiumnews.com/2010/102310.html

n late 1998, when the Republican-controlled House of Representatives voted to impeach President Bill Clinton for lying under oath about a sexual affair, many on the Right insisted that the issue wasn’t the sex but the perjury. They are now confronted with a parallel case in which U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas quite clearly perjured himself to get his seat on the bench.

We should keep pushing this meme: Thomas is a perjurer on the Supreme Court and should be impeached.
I hope it shows up in more and more of the media.

19. if you read his actual testimony,he was careful and clever
A good lawyer can make a case that he did not commit perjury. So, as much as we might like to see him put the wringer (and as much as he deserves it), it isn't going to happen.
