New poll: Rubio, Sink ahead
http://www.wptv.com/dpp/news/political/new-poll%3A-rubio%2C-sink-ahead-

Republican U.S. Senate hopeful Marco Rubio has been on a roll.

Most recent polls had him out front by double digits against Independent governor Charlie Crist and Democratic congressman Kendrick Meek.

However, the latest NewsChannel 5/Zogby poll gives Rubio just a 6-percentage point lead over Crist.

Meek, who had to refute a Wall Street Journal story saying he was going to drop out of the race, is a distant third with 18-percent.

The numbers are exactly the same as they were 3 weeks ago when the last NewsChannel5/ Zogby poll was released.

Only 8-percent of the 802 voters polled were undecided... so even though polls traditionally tighten up before an election, there may not be enough wiggle room for Crist to leapfrog Rubio.

The race that has been tight throughout is the race for governor between Democrat Alex Sink and Republican Rick Scott.

The news here is good for Sink.

She's out in front 43 to 39 percent.

That's just outside the polls' 3 and a half percent margin of error... but 11 percent were still undecided.

I think that is a first for them. Very conservative.

5. Actually, it's 15-0 now

That's very impressive in such a swing state for a Democrat to basically run the table of newspaper endorsements...

The Lakeland Ledger (with few exceptions) are hitting up the D's for this election. Polk County is conservative but not overwhelmingly so. :-)

Sure enough there's a LTTE today accusing their editorial board of using "weasel words" for their "recommendations" and railing against their librul media overlords the New York Times.

Meek is really good, but he is going to lose. Some in Florida don't know him outside of Miami, some won't vote for an African American, and he doesn't have the budget to advertise against either Crist or Rubio. Rubio is one of the absolute worst Senate candidates possible. I really wish we had run Grayson for Senate. Crist really does win the independent vote, and he pulled in a lot of teachers with the veto of SB6. Either Crist or Meeks may have beaten Rubio without a split vote. As it is, Rubio has already won unless he self-destructs.

Sink has a chance because Scott is terrible as a speaker and he isn't from Florida. Again, Grayson or someone else (Castor?) may have been a better candidate than Sink, but I really hope and pray she wins so someone will be able to veto the crazy bills from the Florida legislature. Of course, they hack the machines here and poll workers are hostile, etc...so even if the polls have Sink ahead it is still a battle to win an election here.
