Put a stick in Ehrlich--his comeback bid is pretty much over as now a third poll gives Gov.O'Malley a double digit lead (Baltimore Sun, Washington Post are the other two over the last couple of days):
Incumbent Democrat Martin O’Malley now holds a 10-point lead over Republican challenger Bob Ehrlich in his bid for reelection in Maryland.
A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in Maryland finds O’Malley, who is seeking a second four-year term, with 52% support to Ehrlich’s 42%. Two percent (2%) like another candidate in the race, and five percent (5%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
The race now moves from Leans Democrat to Solid Democrat in the Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 Gubernatorial Scorecard.
O’Malley defeated Ehrlich, the state’s first GOP governor in decades, in 2006, and the rematch was neck-and-neck for much of this year. But O’Malley began to pull away in September, and held a 49% to 41% early this month.
