If any of you think that by staying home as some sort of protest will do ANYTHING to improve our lives in this country, in the short or long term, think again.

This quote is what you (and we) are in store for if the republicans win ANY house of congress. There will be no more progress on any issue important to us (without extreme compromise, if that is even allowed). It will be two years of Republicans trying to destroy president Obama while this country continues to suffer.

I weep at the thought that the republicans plan these past two years might work perfectly (with help from "progressives" no less): (1) obstruct anything Obama does with the help of a few conservative democrats (2) attack anything that is passed (3) people blame Obama and the democrats and not the obstructionist republicans for why things are not getting done, (4) republicans benefit electorally from their own obstruction.

And the worst thing would be, next time Dems have full control, the republicans will pull out the very same playbook, unless we stand up this year and say "yes, there hasn't been enough progress, but trying and making some progress is better than obstruction and no progress."
