That was your first error.

Your second was allowing yourself to get upset at anything a schmuck like David Gergen has to say.

Seriously, no one takes him seriously anymore.

and feel much better for it, until today. I slipped.

I just have to wonder how some of these sleazeballs sleep at night. They have zilch integrity and posture.

Fuck you Gergen- may your family and close friends finally see you for the fake you are, (although I'm sure they are enjoying the reaping of material things, just because of your fake lieing fuckedness)

13. People like Gergen are so out of touch with real people...
Nothing they say has any meaning or significance.

Gergen is sort of the king of the mushy middle. Endless blathering without actually taking a real stand on much of anything. A vile human being in my opinion.

33. This is exactly the reason Gergen has been so negative
about President Obama. His feelings have been hurt ever since the 2008 election as he expected to be invited to bloviate his opinions to everyone in the White House, and boo hoo, they didn't ask for his "sage" advice. The man thinks too highly of himself.

any president gave two shits about him. Maybe he stroked their egos or something. But Obama doesn't seem to be the kind of person who needs that.

21. yes he has. I take Stewart much more seriously than those paid off
lieing fuckers that have nothing to do with journalism. I think some people in this thread have nailed it - they are jealous, the pundit pukery, that Stewart is a more serious journalist than they are.

Can you imagine any one of these weak assed fuckers asking the tough questions of the Chimperor? hahahahaha!

but yet Stewart did of Obama, and Obama played it back and came out intact. They both looked like intelligent adults instead of suckling pigs that the commentators are

18. I couldn't believe what Blitzer said re: Obama on TDS:
Paraphrased-"I watched the whole thing and President Obama did pretty well, but not everyone will see the whole thing. They'll just see little clips that are shown on other shows-like we'll be showing in The Situation Room-which make it look like he DIDN'T do so well-clips that will get the attention that we and others will be showing over and over..." So he ADMITTED that the truth is going to be distorted by HIM and others in the media! :eyes:

27. me too. In fact I have a particular admiration for Republicans who are willing to see both sides
... as he always did. It's so uncharacteristic of them as a group that it's really very refreshing and appealing when one of them does it.

He may honestly think that Obama shouldn't appear on an interview show. Whatever. He's entitled to his opinion, but since (as far as I've seen) his opinion has always been his and not an excerpt from Karl Rove memo, I'm okay with his expressing it. Wrong though it may be. :)

28. Modern day "fireside chat"
I think this is brilliant on the part of Obama. All brilliant politicians who connect with the everyday person do this--if they want to succeed. FDR used the fireside chat radio address, Reagan finally found a purpose for his acting skills in his televised addresses, and Obama is going straight to the people on Stewart.

Now Obama needs to go on Colbert. Now THAT would be funny and instructive.

presidential candidate acting as pundits or commentators on Faux News. That's somehow dignified?

Obama is reaching a largely ignored population of this country. The educated young and liberals of all ages. He's the president of everyone, not just self-important old white guys who think the world revolves around them.
