This is the first time he (or his camp) has said for certain one way or the other.

Crist Would Caucus With Democrats, Advisor Says
OCTOBER 29, 2010, 2:17 PM ET
By Peter Wallsten

Florida Gov. Charlie Crist would caucus with Senate Democrats if he wins Florida’s three-way U.S. Senate contest on Tuesday, a close advisor told Washington Wire Friday.

That’s a big “if.” Mr. Crist is trailing Republican candidate Marco Rubio in most polls. But the declaration by Florida trial lawyer John Morgan sheds light on one of the many mysteries in the Bill Clinton-Charlie Crist-Kendrick Meek imbroglio.

“Crist is going to caucus with the Democrats,” Mr. Morgan said. “I don’t think there’s any ifs, ands or buts about it. It would be, in a very tight year, almost like a Democratic pickup in a solid Republican state.”

Mr. Morgan says the question of whether Mr. Crist would side with Democrats had nothing to do with any purported deal under which Mr. Meek would quit the race.

Crist spokesman Danny Kanner has denied that Mr. Crist had agreed to caucus with Senate Democrats as part of any deal with Mr. Clinton or Mr. Meek.

Mr. Crist, a former Republican who turned independent in April, has said repeatedly he would “caucus with the people,” a dodge that allows him to simultaneously court Republicans, Democrats and independents in the three-way race.

3. It seems kind of desperate saying it this late. He should have said from the beginning
that if elected he will caucus with the dems.

6. I'd bet money that IF he wins, Mitch McConnell will be the first to call and congratulate him...
followed by any number of other rethug senators who will be blubbering apologies. When the celebration is over, Crist will appear with McConnell and announce that they've kissed and made up, therefore Crist will caucus with the rethugs.

Bank on it.

7. Olbermann asked Crist point blank and he did not say he woujld.
He utterly hedged, days before the election, with a national platform. So that was his answer out of his mouth, less than 24 hours ago.

8. Exactly
Just last night he had two opportunities to state this......that he would caucus with the Dems......but he would not say it last night........two chances.

Now all of a sudden today "there are no if ands or buts"

Smells like BS to me.

10. During the debate this week, too
I think I'm gonna stop posting around here. I just love all of the Crist Lovers. If Crist was so great, why didn't he run against Rubio and beat him in the primary?? Since no-one wants to answer that question, they just want to keep piling on Meek. I'll wait till after the election when we can talk about Democrats again. Not false Independents who are really Repukes!!!!

13. Look
don't take it personally that the democrats picked the worst senatorial candidate we've seen in a generation. Meek has the personality of a state trooper pulling you over on the Florida Turnpike. We have to do what is best for our state and Crist is much better than Rubio. Hell, have you even SEEN Rubio's commercials down here? He doesn't even bother mentioning Meek's name.

17. That was before the Meek debacle...
.... my guess is his effort to get Meek out of the race has failed and this is plan B.

14. Crist would not caucus with repukes, they despise him & that's how the fascist won their primary
Crist nixed a Democrat's chance (well, except a very strong Democratic contender) of winning this race when he went independent to run against Rubio. Crist was very popular up until that vote a while back, and he is moderately popular across party lines, so no Dem was going to win - now, the problem at hand is that early votes have been made by Dems APLENTY, so it may be too late to do anything about Rubio.

I will be voting for Crist tomorrow or Tuesday, and I have no regrets. Meek has less than a percent chance of winning, and I was waiting til the end to determine my vote for him or Crist. I would have voted for Meek (and said I was voting for him if called at ANY time) if he had around 30% of the polling. He does not, and there's no reason all Dems shouldn't want a centrist like Crist instead of a fascist like Rubio!!!

16. Crist is desperate...
just a few months ago he was going to walk away in the
senate race. I predict he will have a nervous breakdown soon.
