50% approve, 49% disapprove-could this be a pre-emptive excuse why Repubs. don't do as well as "expected"?: http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/obama_approval_index_history

5. Exactly!! So predictable
Rass always does that, they try to influence the electorate with inflated GOP numbers and then walk them back right before the election so their final numbers will be respectable.

2. rasmussen does this every election
they skew them to the right all year, then when it is election time, they "correct" the numbers.

3. Exactly..
it's because he is a regular on Faux, so he "writes" the desired narrative, reports it on Fsux, but then doesn't want to look stupid at election time.

but now it counts re: the narrative, and Rasmussen just happens to give Obama's approval a 12-point swing in his favor in 3 days.

10. And on November 3rd it will be back to skewing republican until 2012
(R)assmussen says, "Pay no attention to this reality bump in the road, we'll be back to kissing FOX "News" ass after election day."

11. It will be down to 42% in 3 days. Just watch.
I have come to believe that Rasmussen doesn't even bother to poll, he just makes up #'s out of his ass and posts them on his website.

12. I agree, BUT
I think he put Obama up to 50% TODFAY so he has a reason why Repubs. didn't do as well as expected.

Gallup shows a 2 point drop.
