Aside from sheer vanity (wanting to be in the public eye again). I thought Tom Delay had been delivered a big fat present when his sentencing coincided with the current national tragedy. It was all but lost in the flurry of news about Arizona. Why would he want to call attention to the fact that he is going to jail for three years? Honestly, almost nobody probably knows about it.
