5. Its tradition for whoever carried the Superbowl to interview the President. . .
. . .FOX NEWS should have used Chris Wallace.

9. Chris Wallace should have done this interview. Could you imagine NBC using Keith Olbermann. . .
. . .to interview Bush. This is no different.

23. Candidate Obama was supposed
to be about change. He should have broken with this "tradition". Any Democrat, up to and including President Obama, who appears on Fox News gives that Network credence and respectability it does not deserve, and the Democrat gets whatever they deserve.

31. actually it was a change in tradition - these interviews started with Obama
other Presidents simply called the winners keeping politics out of it.

Can't we just enjoy a freakin' football game, mostly uncreative commercials, botched National Anthem, and shitty half-time show without politics?!

No one should be surprised that Bill O'Lielly acted like a flaming asshole -- it's who he is.

Better get dome with it. Beside, it was a walk in the park for him, he didn't stop smiling.

He's not Sarah Palin...afraid of interviews! OHHHHH they might ask him hard questions!

He can handle anything with dignity including a prick like O'Reilly. In fact, his prickishness just makes the president look better.

13. Billo is not only undereducated
but he is a poor interviewer. His act was rehearsed, his manner was rude, and he had no interest in any answers. He wasted his and everyones time by pushing his own agenda.
The producers of the Super Bowl could have done better.

33. I wasn't one of the people here who was complaining about Obama going to Faux.
In fact, I like it when he confronts his adversaries. Doesn't mean that I enjoy it when he is disrespected. And the level of disrespect for this president, in particular, is unlike anything I've ever seen. It comes from ALL sides, too. There's a difference between engaging in thoughtful, intelligent debate with those who disagree with you and downright rudeness and hostility. He gets it from ALL sides.

36. Please link me to any
interview with bush that showed the amount of disrespect that Pres Obama got this past Sunday. Constant interruptions, moronic "why do people hate you?" questions. That our President rose above it all and kicked o'reilly's ass the whole time is besides the point.

17. From my cousin, posted on FB
"I really don't watch a lot of political television, so someone help me out here. Just saw a bit of Bill O'Rielly "interviewing" the president. Is BO REALLY that big of a dick? COnstantly interjecting his own opinion into the president's answers, and INTERRUPTING the president's answers? Geez-o-flip man, really?"

I think other people did notice LOL

20. I thought he was slightly diesrespectful
but, overall he gave some softball questions. O'Reilly is sure to take more heat from his rabid base than he will from the Left. They're already up in arms that Bill O didn't scream at Obama and tell him to shut up.

Obama came across as unflappable and human. Not a lot of substance to the interview, but it at least shows the FOX News viewers that he isn't the boogie man.

24. Filter out appearances, and just listen...
Edited on Sun Feb-06-11 10:12 PM by noel711
President Obama's voice is level, measured and confident.
He is totally in control.

O'Reilly's voice reveals his great insecurity,
the fast rate of his speech, and his voice reveals how
intimidated he is by the president.

Even his choice of words is childish: "How many people hate you.."
Good grief; it isn't just disrespect, its fear.
He's subconsciously using words that put up a wall between himself
and the scary black man. "Hate..."
I wonder who is the hater here..

28. It's not disrespectful, it's a good tactic...
.... because, otherwise, the President will talk and talk and talk and the MORE he talks, the more sense he will make.

This is what Fox does, remember that interview in the Blue Room where the Fox guy did the same thing?

They can bash him when he's not around or they can try to shut him up when he's seated in front of them.

Ultimately, they will not succeed.
