1. Full article indicates the California legislature is working to fix this.
As Californians begin preparing personal income tax returns, some lawmakers are pushing to pass a law that would exempt those contributions from being subject to state personal income taxes, as was done on the federal level.

"The federal health care law dramatically changed things, and not all states have kept up with the pace of those changes. And we're trying to make sure that we're doing what's right for our working families," said Assemblyman Henry Perea, D-Fresno, who chairs the chamber's Revenue and Taxation Committee.

Perea is a co-author of legislation, AB 36, that would conform the state tax code to federal rules that exempt the benefit from taxable income.

4. Well of course they're going to fix it. Middle class and affluent people will be affected!
We're not talking about worthless poor people who got their taxes increased with the recent compromise.

2. That article is a JOKE.
It does not say how much more the ONE family it refers to would pay, because they won't pay more.

The article says nothing at all about that.

And if you read all of at the link posted, and then read the original article, the family was paying $180 a month for coverage for this coverage each month.

And the article then claims that ALL of that $180 won't go away. So sure, the family may have to pay less than then that $180, but why say that.

Much better propaganda to say that since the entire amount did not go away, it is better that the family pay the full $180 a month.

Epic fail.

7. The article says it's a loophole in California's tax law, not a hidden tax
in the health care law.

10. Existing taxes were "hidden", how?
California already taxed it, it's the same with or without the newer law.
