Hmmm Maybe Obama is more like Reagan than any of us actually thought.
Does the president really suffer from what House Speaker John Boehner calls a “spending illness”? Not according to an exclusive Newsweek-Daily Beast estimate of his outlays on new legislation since taking office.

• The Newsweek Daily Beast team found that President Obama “spent” $21 billion more on GOP-friendly tax cuts than on government programs. • He’s laid out $884 billion for six major, immediate spending increases that aren’t offset elsewhere in the budget, from the stimulus package to Cash for Clunkers. • But he’s made $905 billion in tax cuts, including the Bush tax-cut extension in December. • His health-care reform will tilt his spending vs. tax-cutting equilibrium toward the former in future years.
Nothing unites Republicans quite like the unshakable belief that Barack Obama has become the Carrie Bradshaw of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, unable to stop himself from frittering away ridiculous sums of money on frivolous things. But what Republicans never mention when railing against Obama’s alleged fiscal recklessness is how much money he has spent, and what exactly he’s spent it on.
Obama has slashed one tax dollar for every dollar he’s spent on government programs.

1. Oh, I thought, when we heard the first speech he ever did
nationally and that was at the Democratic National Convention in 2004, that this guy sounds like Reagan. I had heard a lot of Reagan over the years cause I lived in California and he was on the political scene even before he ran for Governor. However, I never thought Obama would become Reagan in action.

2. Did anyone do their own homework on this?
Like read the budget proposals themselves. I say this..because TDB isn't actually biased news. Secondly, the media has been working extra hard to paint Obama as a villain---especially this labeling as Reagan. Just so they can shake his Democratic base. ~sigh~ More and more shit. 2 days later an article will show Obama has spent more money on progressive things.

3. What does that column have to do with Reagan?
Also, claiming that the stimulus cuts were GOP friendly, especially since the GOP voted against them, but primarily because they were in the form of the Making Work Pay credit, increase in foodstamp funding, etc.

6. Yet another story from a right-wing rag
designed to rile the left for no reason.

There is literally nothing wrong with wanting to pay for programs you put in place. None. But now that Obama's doing it, it's a Bad Thing.

And certain people will fall for it every fucking time.
