Evan Bayh joins "a ridiculous cable news outlet that exists to spew 'strident partisanship'"
Think Progress: After Leaving Senate Because Of ‘Too Much Partisanship,’ Former Sen. Evan Bayh Takes Job At Fox News

Steve Benen: EVAN BAYH'S DEPRESSING POST-SENATE CAREER....

About a year ago, to the great disappointment of his Democratic colleagues, Evan Bayh announced he wouldn't seek re-election. He even wrote a lengthy New York Times op-ed about his decision, decrying "strident partisanship" and "unyielding ideology."

Even at the time, Bayh's move was tough to understand. He implored Americans to take seriously the "challenges of historic import" that "threaten America's future," while at the same time announcing that he would stop working on these challenges altogether.

And what would he do with this time? Bayh said he had a few ideas in mind, including possibly teaching and/or philanthropic work. He added at the time that he hoped to do something "worthwhile for society."

That was a year ago. Today, the former senator who decried "strident partisanship" and "unyielding ideology" will be paid by a ridiculous cable news outlet that exists to spew "strident partisanship" and "unyielding ideology."

<...>

Once a tool, always a tool.

1. This is what he left congress to do?
All that big talk about why he was leaving the Senate.

And he's just going to be a talking head on Fox?

My gosh, he's emptier than we already thought he was!

3. Evan Bayh, Lanny Davis, and Geraldine Ferraro, all Faux News talking heads.
All closely associated with the Clintons. Coincidence?

Checkmate? More like nana nana boo boo ...

Fact: Murdoch raised money for HClinton:

Fact: Bayh campaigned with HClinton in the Dem primary:
http://www.upi.com/topic/Evan_Bayh/photos/pg-2/

Your links and what they really said:

#1: Rupert Murdoch supported Obama for President

May 2008: Murdoch’s not-quite-but-almost endorsement of Barack Obama for president. The founder -- and defender -- of Fox News said he expected Obama to win in a landslide, citing widespread unhappiness with the current administration and his disenchantment with Republican contender John McCain.

#2: Huffpo: Rupert Murdoch thinks Obama is a "Rock Star," likes what he is saying

May 2008: Rupert Murdoch says Obama will win.

#3: Obama met for a secret meeting with Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes while running for president

September 2008: Rupert Murdoch responds to Obama's complaints about fairness ... Ailes says he told the senator that there would be no "embarrassing or underhanded stuff" in the interview and that if he had any overall concerns about Fox's treatment in the future, he should call Ailes directly.

#4: Obama considered Evan Bayh as VP

July 2008: VP Olympics: "I'm going to make a prediction ..."

18. I doubt the Clintons have anything to do with this

Why insinuate this? I think Hillary has better things to do with her time than to figure out
Evan Bayh's life. The DLC is dead and Hillary is busy being the SOS.

Evan Bayh is an egotistical jerk who has no allegiances, obviously.

20. It was an observation.
A statement of fact is not an accusation or attack -- except at DU, of course. :eyes:

I'm referring to your first comment, which was not a statement of fact.

22. No, I noted they are the common denominator.
I'm sure Lanny Davis, Geraldine Ferraro, and Evan Bayh made their way to Faux News all on their own.

23. The Clintons probably know that Bayh is not worth the effort.
Wouldn't it be great to be a fly on the wall when Bayh is at a Clinton event or any event that the Clintons attend? And have ears on what is said when Bayh mosey on away to get a drink or start up a talk about a worthless topic?

And then we can just wait for him to come back and run for SOMETHING as a "moderate" Democrat because he worked for/with Fox. I hate these people.
