10. Exactly. Some are still throwing "illegal occupation" around
I guess they're stuck viewing President Obama through their G.W. Bush lenses.

53. You're kidding, right?
Obama is continuing many of the illegal practices of the Bush administration. Propagating the Iraq war is a war crime. Allowing torture is a war crime. Calling for the assassination of an American national is an illegal abuse of power.

This isn't about the person in the office. It's about the powers of the office.

Kucinich was spot on.

4. You need an "other choice" ... if you had one ... I would pick it ...
and then suggest that Dennis masturbate more.

That's not an attack on Dennis, he just seems tense.

12. I think Congress should read the reqisite sections of the War Powers Resolution of 1972...
and if the President is considered to be in violation of that resolution, they should act to maintain the separation of powers.

TITLE 50 > CHAPTER 33 > § 1542

§ 1542. Consultation; initial and regular consultations

The President in every possible instance shall consult with Congress before introducing United States Armed Forces into hostilities or into situations where imminent involvement in hostilities is clearly indicated by the circumstances, and after every such introduction shall consult regularly with the Congress until United States Armed Forces are no longer engaged in hostilities or have been removed from such situations.

As I read the above seciton of the War Powers Resoltuion, it says that "in ever possibel instance." That tells me that unless there is ome surprise attack such as Pearl Harbor the President must consult with Congress before he sends troops.

Explanations of the resolution can be found at (http://www.loc.gov/law/help/war-powers.php)

If it was possible for the President to have consulted with Congress, which it seems it was in this case, then he is in violation of this section of the resolution.

Should he be impeached? Reagan was not impeached for ordering an invasion of Grenada in 1983. The Courts determined at the time that Congress had other remedies. Since they did not do it to Reagan, or even censure him because Congress had other remedies, Obama is likely in the clear. It seems that he does not just stop at admiring Reagan, he emulates Reagan.

21. Not everyone at DU speaks English as a primary language.....
I speak only English yet I had no trouble interpreting his intentions. English is a difficult and MANY native speakers don't do much better. I congratulate him for trying. God knows I couldn't do as well in ANY other language.

Kucinich called for impeachment then later backed down. Whats so hard to understand?

Maverick Ohio Democrat Dennis Kucinich is backing away from his “impeach Barack Obama” statements after it has become apparent that his fellow Democrats and the leadership of his party has no desire to back him.

“You’re not going to get much support for impeachment when the two people pushing it are the leading whack jobs for each of their parties,” a Democratic strategist told Capitol Hill Blue. “They lack the credibility to lead such an effort.”

After Obama authorized the attacks on Libya without consulting Congress, Kucinich said Obama committed “an impeachable offense.”

Now he admits the idea is dead.

http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/304882

Ohio Democratic Rep Dennis Kucinich, who had asked for impeachment proceedings against President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney over Iraq, has suggested that President Obama could face impeachment over the constitutionality of the decision to enter Libya militarily, according to a report in Politico.

There seems to be some legal support for that statement.
