The 2012 campaign will be entertaining
Most of the negative spin aimed at President Obama is nonsense. Not everyone agrees with all his policies, but despite the nonstop attempts to hype the negative, downplay the positive and distort the facts, the President has a very impressive record of accomplishments.

The health care law is growing in appeal, albeit in the direction of strengthening it. It was a solid foundation, with everything from the waivers to the built in accountability.

Republicans are trying to repeal Wall Street reform and attacking Elizabeth Warren in the process.

The GOP are attacking group from AARP to unions.

Whether it's ending the wars, closing Guantanamo or other defense and national security policies that are remnants of the Bush era, everyone knows that anyone in the Presidency would be faced with the complexities of trying to reverse them, including dealing with Congress. There is no way around it.

On jobs and other domestic policies, corporations and Republicans aren't going to become suddenly cooperative if its another Democrat. They're not going to become reasonable and do what's best for the country if its a Republican.

President Obama has been able to maneuver a difficult highly political climate, getting a lot done in the process.

The 2012 race is going to target the President's record, but any challenger is going to have to resort to some serious spin to try to distort it.

Republicans have all but abandoned any sensible argument. They're tripping over each other advancing one bizarre spin afer another. Trump is a birther. Gingrich can't decide what to say from one minute to the next, and is confusing himself. Even Congressional Republicans are having trouble finding an argument that doesn't sound absurd.

Yup, the 2012 campaign will be entertaining.

1. It almost seems we just 'got over' the last one -- not sure I"m ready to take on
another. It was EXHAUSTING - but well worth it! And so exciting! Okay, I'm ready, let's do it again!!

5. I can't wait for more Michelle Bachman to redo history. That is free speech I look forward too.
I can just see her purposely saying stupid stuff to connect with 'the base' and driving Romney nuts. Bachman will really inspire the teabaggers. Thanks to the Koches! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!

6. Yup,
she's clueless: Bachmann Flubs Fifth Grade American History

Also, Romney is trying a new strategy. ROMNEY TAKES HIS HEALTH CARE PITCH OUT FOR A SPIN....:

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (R) knows he has a health care problem -- his sole accomplishment in public office served as a blueprint for President Obama's health care policy, considered poison in Republican politics.

But Romney's been working on a defense, and he gave it a shot in Las Vegas yesterday.

It was billed as a foreign policy address, but it didn't take long before the most prominent issue that could haunt Mitt Romney's presidential campaign came up.

The first question from the audience after his 24-minute address yesterday before the Republican Jewish Coalition here was not about Israel or unrest in the Middle East. It was about Romney's health care plan in Massachusetts.

Romney largely defended the rationale of the Massachusetts plan, but he sought to distinguish it from President Obama's national plan by casting it as an issue of states' rights.

"I would never do what President Obama did, which is usurp the power of states and replace it with an overreaching federal hand,'' Romney said. "That's the wrong way.''

I have no idea whether his was well received. It's certainly possible that Romney's pitch will prove persuasive; far-right activists can be a pretty gullible bunch.

7. more advantages for Obama
he has burnished up on his pro-business credentials. Bill Daley will be a huge asset for getting $upport from the biggest corporations. And the attacks on Obama as a "leftist" are starting to look ridiculous even to the most mindless teabagger.

8. Hmmm?
"And the attacks on Obama as a 'leftist' are starting to look ridiculous even to the most mindless teabagger."

So the crazy birther/teabaggers no longer consider President Obama a foreign-born socialist?

Interesting!
