The war continues in Libya, but an article says Obama is not getting the credit. Credit for what? Starting a war? Into the vapor goes this little fuck up and the Kardashians are on. The economy is healed, on the mend, McDonalds is hiring. Jobs for a new future where one hour of work buys you a meal deal at the same place. But no worry, this means that jobs are back and happy days are here again. Housing? Oh dear, that's sooooo last year. Why even talk about that. Like that little girl from a past Ignoble Awards show. "Stop talking, your boooooring me." On the Dick Tracy crimestoppers beat, the corporate fuckery equals no harm-no foul, so that's a non-starter, and besides, the economy is good again. That kind of thing will never happen again, there are so many new laws in effect.
We have a President to elect, points to make, people to throw under the bus. So many people, so little time. The past is boring, and we only reference it when we are talking about bad things republican presidents and other assorted clown types do. Not our guy, not our gang. Coming up is the capitulation machine for all things useless like taking care of old people. This we need to make political points on, because we know that in the end it really is about looking good and not making our people uncomfortable. Incremental surrrender is a tactic highly prized. Too bad Custer did not use that, maybe he would of been around in his old age.
But a surprise is coming. There is a real world out there, beyond people comfortable in jobs, company provided HC, and the other nicities that are slipping away by the day. There is no next big thing on the horizon that will solve or change our lives, as they get transformed by a tidal wave nightmare of mis-information and propaganda by republicans who don't give a shit, and our leaders that don't lead, nor call out the evil. Evil has a point where it can be negotiated with.
This surprise will be that when the election comes around, we will not be in the best place for our guy to be elected. Things change quickly, and until the people needing a voice, feel that they are getting that voice, we will fail miserably. In that void the republicans will ride and happily take over. there was a poll a bit back where Obama wins the election over an UN-NAMED republican by ten points. Ten points.
Something has to give, and I firmly believe it will be us as we defend the indefensible, and dismantle in the coming year the main things that made Democrats different. We apparently will be fielding a candidate that is willing to do so. It will not go un-noticed by the people that it affects the most, and no spin and ass-covering will change it.
