Who do you think will be the Republican nominee next year?
Edited on Mon Apr-11-11 07:30 PM by TNDemo
There is such a big field of goofballs. Are they hiding some wunderkin somewhere? I think they will probably grit their teeth and go for Romney but we can always hope for Palin, Trump or Bachmann.

20. Neither side has any knowledge of the Constitution

You can't support the Patriot Act, McDonald vs. Chicago, and Gitmo and claim to support it.

2. At first I had Huckabee down pat. Until Palin says something. I'm stuck between...
and god I don't want to say it...Trump-Bachmann-Romney

Between those three idiots, I don't know who...ultimately I'm hoping Romney. But the Republican party is dumb ass crazy and if Palin doesn't run, she will endorse Bachmann--which means Bachmann is the leader.

*As a note though---I don't think the Republican party is that advanced to have a woman candidate for President, but one never knows.

3. I'm betting on Mittens
the pukes are running the crazies (Bachmann, Palin, Huckabee, Trump) to scare the shit out of the average puke so that when the time comes they'll be willing to choke back their hatred of the magic underwear golden sheaf believer from Utah.

9. Pawlenty is the least damaged goods of the current crop
I also think they will try and recruit Christie, maybe Patreus.

Huckabee and Palin have signalled they won't run, although his continued high poll numbers and the possibility of gaining the White House could lure Huckabee in.

Purely in a political view, it will be fascinating to see if they go with their "teabagger gut" and pick a radical, or try to appeal to independents with Romney or Huntsman.

10. Teabaggers lose big time. Iowa is based on one issue and one issue only. Whose going to secure
farm and bio-fuel subsidies. If a candidate doesn't commit to the ethanol pledge, then they're dead in the water. It goes against the teabagger mantra, so they're not going to win Iowa, or Super Tuesday.

34. You mean Tim "Bubba" Pawlenty? That one? I would have agreed a while back before he
faked the Bubba accent. That kind of behavior tends to invite ridicule that can be tough to live down.

And Repukes are rigid thinkers like that. It would tilt their world off its axis to nominate someone out of turn.

17. I would agree with that except for two things:
1. He is a Morman. A lot of people, especially in the South, just have a culture problem with that.

2. He signed a health care law verry simmilar to the federl one in Massacusetts.

I don't think he will be able to overcome these.

I think it will be Huckabee.

I think they know that not one person from the current crop has a chance so just before the Iowa primary they will get a new face.

Edited on Tue Apr-12-11 12:22 AM by golfguru
1. Barbour
2. Palin
3. Christy
4. Rubio
5. Trump
6. Bachmann
7. Pawlenty
8. Jeb Bush
9. Daniels
10. Cheney
11. Giuliani

So that leaves Romney, Huckabee, or Gingrich.
Take your pick....no one knows for sure at this point.

24. It's a bit early to say, but...
...the prospective field is so full of chumps, losers, and nonentities that I'm beginning to side with the people who think that the convention will yield a "peacemaker" candidate who's not currently in the frame, such as Jeb Bush.

27. Gosh, I don't know. They are all such dimwits.
I guess it doesn't matter, since American voters will apparently vote however the television tells them to vote, but this field of republicans is the sorriest parade of losers I have ever seen. There is not a person among them worthy of respect.
