1. We've been reluctant to pull the trigger on that.

We know that it will cause a lot of consternation, so it was important that we do some other stuff first, like opening the ATA forum.

Having said that, we actually have a different idea which we like much better, and which should have a similar effect without being quite so punitive. I'm not going to divulge the details just yet, but we'll probably discuss it with all of you fairly soon.

I completely understand your reluctance - the unrec whining would pale in significance compared to the caterwauling this feature would cause. (I personally favor punitive measures for "I'll give you something to cry about" reasons, but that's neither here nor there.)
