This was an active thread on the mortgage crisis and a member's take on his own foreclosure situation. Got a bit contentious. but not too flamey that I saw. And rather than being locked or relocated, it seems to have been disappeared entirely overnight sometime.
May I ask why? Unless it was a technical fluke, I want to ensure I understand the concern or forum rule that required the zapping of the thread, or DU's policies on what types of threads would be fully zapped rather than moved or locked.
Was there porn? I didn't see porn. If there was porn, I'd like to know about the porn, but understand why porn would be zapped. Okay, enough about porn; that's clearly going off in the weeds a bit. Questionable legal advice in some of the posts or porn -- those are my guesses.
Or a server glitch. Now that I've written this all out, it feels more like this was a server glitch and this entire undertaking of asking about the whole thing and speculating about porn and so forth is feeling increasingly ridiculous, which was not my intention. But porn or legal advice, in that order, are my guesses.
The reason I ask though, in all seriousness, is to ensure I understand the problem if it was related to the content, e.g. is there a concern about the topic of the mortgage / foreclosure crisis, etc.?
Is there a pending re-location of the thread, or is it gone for good?
Again assuming this was a deliberate zap, is there a way to make the "Missing Topic" warning explain the zap, to let everyone know why the zap occurred, so that posters could better anticipate and avoid zapping in the future? E.g., "Zapped for porn and questionable legal advice," etc.? Surely no one threatened violence. Porn, bad legal advice or violence -- those you would naturally expect to be zapped. Or a pornographic threat of legal violence? Was it those?
Just want to avoid this sort of thing in the future, unless, as mentioned earlier, it was just a glitch.
Thanks very much in advance.
