Pakistan Drone Raids 'Claim Lives' (2nd Drone Strike Kills 5 Retrieving Bodies)

Pakistani intelligence officials say three US missile attacks spaced just hours apart have killed 18 people in the country's northwest Pakistan.

At least nine people were killed in the first attack, when missiles struck a moving vehicle in the North Waziristan tribal region, the officials told the Associated Press news agency.

Two hours later, drones struck the same site again, killing five people who had gathered to retrieve the bodies.

A third raid on Saturday targeted a moving vehicle, killing four people in the Mohammed Khel area of North Waziristan, the intelligence officials said.

Up to 35 people were believed to have been killed in similar attacks on Monday and Tuesday.

New America Foundation, a Washington-based policy think-tank, estimates that 118 US drone attacks in 2010 killed approximately 2,100 people in Pakistan's tribal areas.

Other than stating the obvious - killing people is not good, how should it be compared to a ground war?
