PAUL: With regard to the idea of whether you have a right to health care, you have realize what that implies. It’s not an abstraction. I’m a physician. That means you have a right to come to my house and conscript me. It means you believe in slavery. It means that you’re going to enslave not only me, but the janitor at my hospital, the person who cleans my office, the assistants who work in my office, the nurses.

Freedom: Having health insurance and still going bankrupt?

You can't go the ER for cancer, so here's something to think about. If a person is unable to pay for cancer treatment under our current system, who has greater human rights and better access to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness; the person suffering from the cancer or the tumors?

1. "freedom" = the rich will live and the poor will die, the powerful live, the powerless die.
same as it ever was.

3. First of all they don't consider those who can't pay their own way insignificant
The Rand Paul's of the world wish nothing but ill on those who are less well off then themselves.

The actually believe in evolution. Survival of the richest.

Can't afford good medical care, then you will die and removed from the gene pool.

5. Living and dying on the streets, sick and spreading contageous diseases
because someone might not be too sick to get a job and can't afford treatment

That's what freedom means to the R. Paul family

9. When conservatives talk about freedom, they don't mean that they
want us to have more options to choose from. They mean that the rich are free to do what they want regardless of the consequences to others: free to pollute the environment and charge obscene prices for whatever they sell with impunity. The freedom they want for everyone else is, well, different: freedom to choose between starvation and slavery and/or prison; the freedom to choose between living in prison or hanging yourself; the freedom to take what they offer or die.

10. what the hell is he talking about?? how many uninsured are now seriously
in debt because of medical bills? how many have lost their homes, their life savings? it seems to me that private health insurance and no insurance is tantamount to slavery. you are stuck at a job because you NEED insurance. you still can't afford to use it anyway. and if you get sick or someone in your family you are screwed!!

12. Easy. Rich people get the rest of the money they don't already have and the poor can just die.
Of course, that's rather short-sighted. After all of the poor people and middle class people are dead, then the NEW definition of poor will be the bottom half of the rich people and the top 2% will want everything that the bottom 50% of rich people have. After they are all dead, the cycle will start all over again and eventually it will be down to a handful of multi-trillionaire families in a Hatfield/McCoy situation.

Rand Paul really doesn't think things through.

13. Do these fuckers have any idea how the rest of the 1st world operates?
Even Canada. Canadians pay fewer taxes than we do, but they get something for their taxes, including medical care and prescription drugs. You do have to have separate coverage for vision and dental, but it's not expensive, at least that is what my friend from Ontario tells me in between bosses on World of Warcraft.
And in Europe they may pay more taxes, but they get something for THEM too. They don't feel like they have to work so much to just live day to day because they are taken care of. Why is this such a terrible thing for these fuckers to understand?
I long for the world of Star Trek: the Next Generation where there is no wealth, only enlightenment and intelligence. SIGH.

Everyone else is free to know their place, and what will happen if they violate the "natural order".

15. Paul must think that if we have healthcare for everyone that it somehow means that no one pays
for it! I also think citizens have a right to clean air - unpolluted by toxic emissions...but that doesn't mean that I have the right to blow up a manufacturing facility that is dumping chemicals into the air.

16. Um, nobody HAS TO become a doctor.
Including self-accredited quack Rand Paul. If you'd rather be a wage slave at Burger King, Mr. Paul, you're welcome to submit an application.
