Bill Clinton meets up with Paul Ryan at forum--hopes dems don't 'do nothing'
ABC News got interesting video of former President Clinton speaking to Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) backstage at a forum on the national debt.

Clinton praised the Democratic victory in NY-26 yesterday but added, "I hope Democrats don't use this as an excuse to do nothing."

Ryan responds: "My guess is it's going to sink into paralysis is what's going to happen. And you know the math. It's just, I mean, we knew we were putting ourselves out there. You gotta start this. You gotta get out there. You gotta get this thing moving."

They parted with Clinton telling Ryan that if he ever wanted to talk about it, he should "give me a call."

8. Its drivel loved by Republican Clinton haters and
Democrats embarrassed by Obama's positions. They are hoping if they can hate Clinton more they they can somehow justify Obama's betrayals.

pretty simple really...

9. Or maybe those of us who have suffered damage from his deregulation
and economic team don't want him anywhere near the debate on the subject.

16. I am going to guess that you are one of those who
think Jane Hamsher is a traitor to the Dem Party because she once signed a petition that was also signed by a REPUBLICAN, Grover Norquist!

And I could be wrong ~

7. I said exactly what I meant. I voted for Bubba four times and donated money, I don't owe him
anything else at all.

Corruption of Corporate Accountability

Financial Deregulation

This was a bipartisan fire sale started in 1999 of our protections from corporate entities and their greed. Specifically under the Clinton Presidency proposed by the Republicans Gramm-Leach-Bliley Financial Services Modernization Act, repealing the "Glass-Steagall Act" 1999 and accepted in total by the Republican chair of the Finance Committee Jim Leach and unopposed by Democratic members of the committee. The Democrats in congress could have filibustered or President Clinton could have rejected this bill but surprisingly this did not occur.

Barney Frank it was rumored allegedly praised and glorified this bill repeatedly and profusely on the house floor and yet, he voted against it, because... "it didn't go far enough." His words...

What this means in laymen's terms is that rather than gambling with their own money now banks and financial institutions can gamble with your money with no requirement of maintaining a capital reserve...

During this period financial institutions and banks went completely reckless and irresponsible in their gambling on unsecured, unsubstantiated, packaged, repackaged mortgage securities and derivatives that they themselves packaged, repackaged, sold and resold to themselves generating false wealth and false value from absolutely NOTHING.

Hello SEC are you there?...OH that's right! The SEC was gutted somehow...there is now only one analyst trying to investigate an average 8,000-15,000 complaints per MONTH...

14. This & NAFTA are two major issues on which I disagree with Clinton.
I've never heard him talk about the effects that outsourcing has had on American workers, but I do wonder what Clinton would have to say in retrospect.

The obvious choices to make in balancing the budget are raising taxes on those who are raking in money hand over fist & stopping the wars we can't afford.

Taking money & services away from the most vulnerable shouldn't even be an option.

20. Is my reading and listening comprehension on the blink or is everybody elses
Clinton says he hopes this is not an excuse for the Dems to do nothing. I certainly hope the Dems use this as a battering ram into 2012.

At NO time does Clinton EVER defend or stick up for Ryan.

What's the deal here?
