My neighbors have two teabagger campaign signs in their yard.
One of them directly faces my window.

Huey is running against Janice Hahn in our Congressional District, for the seat vacated by Jane Harman.

I feel like vandalizing that damn sign.

I won't.

But I sure feel like it.

Goddamn teabagger.

Today, I got two ginormous Janice Hahn signs; one of them directly faces my neighbors.

"Ignore that sign" and paint an arrow towards the Teabagger sign. Just a thought. :hi:

4. If I were next door, I could do that...
But they're across the street.

Anybody who travels the street even once in a while will see both sets...

15. A similar situation

I had a neighbor with whom I was having sign wars in 2008. One day a kid came to the door selling newspaper subscriptions, so I bought one for the neighbor and told him to go down and let her know.

He came back a few minutes later and said she wanted to know "what it was for". I saw her standing on her porch, arms akimbo, looking irritated.

I went over and told her I wanted to help him out but didn't need the subscription, so I thought she might enjoy it. She thanked me, but the look on her face was priceless, and worth every penny.

But everyone's different that way.

8. Teabagger candidates are your friend. They split the GOP
and can give progressives a chance. The farther right they pull the primary process, the better it is for Dems who want to peel away centrists. The farther right they go, the more centrist a liberal appears in the general!!!

13. That's generally true, but not this time.
The teabagger is running directly against Hahn, in a runoff.

We MUST bury him, and deep. He knows he probably won't win this time, but after the redistricting takes effect, he will have a much better chance.

19. It's rare in this neighborhood to have signs molested.
People around here are normally pretty well behaved.

Thanks for your good thoughts!

18. I have a teabagger 2 doors down.
I live in an upscale suburb, and the notion that this dope is paying too much in taxes cracks me up.

I do know him, and we never talk politics.

I had an Obama sign in my yard, and from time to time (even now) his "mid-life crisis mobile" (new black ford mustang convertible) has magnets on the back ... one says Impeach Obama, the other OMG WTF (where the O in OMG is the Obama symbol).

He does not keep those on his car all the time. He only puts them on occasionally. When some of us are at the bus stop, and he pulls out of his driveway (which is right at the bus stop) with those on, everyone, even the folks that I know are Republicans, roll their eyes, particularly at the use of WTF by a middle age guy.

Anyway ... his daughter and my daughter play in the same softball leagues. The fields the play on are amazing. perfect infields, perfect outfields, electric score boards ... and these girls are 10-14 years old, and the cost to play is very low.

So one day, his daughter's team and my daughter's team are playing each other. So he and I are talking, making nice. We never discuss politics. Given our public displays on politics, we each know what the other thinks.

But on this occasion, I'm not sure why, he brings up how burdensome the taxes are. Without thinking about it, I responded along these lines .... "I know ... take a look at these softball fields, these are nicer than any field I every played on at any time, at any level. I can't imagine how much the city is wasting to ensure that the infields and the outfields the girls play on are professional quality".

Almost all of the blood drained from his face. It was great.

22. The thing I think is important is to NOT fight the neighbors, if you can.
He and I maintained a certain line ... he crossed it ... and I was able to knock him back across the line, but in a way he could not really argue.

At times, I've considered asking him about those stupid magnets ... partiularly the one that says "Impeach Obama" ...

It kills me to not ask him "What specifically do you think Obama has done to require Impeachment?" I really, REALLY, want to ask him that question.

But I don't plan to. His daughter and my daughter are not "fast friends" ... but they are nice to each other. And my hope is that she outgrows her father.

Having said this ... there will be an Obama 2012 sign in my yard when the time comes.

26. I hear you about not fighting, and I agree.
They have no children, and ours are grown. When we occasionally see them at neighborhood get-togethers, they pointedly ignore us.

So.

These signs, theirs and ours, are the most aggressive things any of us have done to each other.

I too will have an Obama 2012 sign in either my window or my yard when the time comes.
