11. This Bullshit Meme

All the Weiner defenders out here on DU seem to be hung up that those of us who are pretty pissed at him care about the pictures.

I don't. I care about the damage that this dumbass has done to the party. As the run up to the 2012 elections begins, we now have this albatross hanging over us. Yeah, it'll probably be out of the media in a week, because that's how we do it here, but that doesn't excuse it. I think the fact that Weiner is obviously involved with many women online makes him pretty much a dirtbag, but that's beside the point for me. What bothers me is that he's about as dumb as a summer day is long, and the fact that he spent the entirity of last weekend lying his ass off in an attempt to cover it up. THAT is why I would no longer want him representing me.

Weiner is just like every other politician who gets caught doing this shit. He's not sorry he did it. He's sorry he got CAUGHT doing it. The fact that he'd go on every media outlet that would have him and throw one lie after the next convinced me that he shouldn't be serving the public no matter what his policies are.

He's going to get forced out, and that opens up the chance that we'll end up with a Republican in his place. That's the true meassure of the damage.

true peoples advocates, instead of continually trying to force New Dems and Blue Dogs down our throats, then they wouldn't always be in such a precarious position come election time. I believe that most Dem voters have moved beyond voting for a candidate simply because he or she has a "D" after their name. They were there before I admit, and that is how the DLC was able to move the party so far to the right, but I believe voters are becoming wise to that and will be a bit more selective in the future. At least I hope they are.
