Dawn Johnsen: My Nomination Was Blocked To Score ‘Political’ Points Against Obama On Terrorism
By Ian Millhiser posted from ThinkProgress Justice on Jun 9, 2011 at 6:15 pm
In a must-read article http://www.slate.com/id/2296470 about the broken confirmations process in the Senate, Dave Weigel quotes former Office of Legal Counsel nominee Dawn Johnsen explaining that conservative objections to her failed nomination had nothing to do with actual disagreements with her views:

“I’m not going to talk about any individual meetings with senators,” says, “but the impression that I got was it wasn’t about me, that it wasn’t personal. It was political. And there were some senators who were very open about that. It wasn’t a difference in substantive views. The things I was attacked for saying about torture, for example—Lindsey Graham and John McCain have talked about that the same way.” (Neither publicly supported her nomination.) “You definitely need to look at how all the terrorism issues and nominees who dealt with terrorism issues were treated. The attempt was to describe President Obama’s approach as not sufficiently tough on terrorism, and make that a political issue.“

So doubt anyone has hard feelings for him.

And it isn't about politics, unless the politics also create problems.

And I am due beer and travel money, and many experiences.

On a funny Function not data.
Funny story, you could put your name in something and there would still be people saying it has nothing to do with you, noun trap.

It is like the birther thing, at anytime someone can say it has nothing to do with you, mostly becuase they don't like your politics or comments, when it might be about someone also becuase of there comments, and beliefs in what is best for society.

Just like someone makes something trying to point it somewhere, but they use nouns, like a lazy way to try to associate, not showing similar actions across many things, showing actual correlations.

I am due beer and travel money, and many experiences.

And note you have to remove the violence, it is about healing.

4. Dems will forever be labeled as soft on communism, soft on crime, soft on drugs, soft on
terra, and weak on national defense. Hopefully one day Dems will grow up and quit acting as if they're afraid they'd shit their pants if so labeled. One can only hope Dems will realize war is being waged against them and America's founding principles and grow a pair. :patriot:

5. She had looked like one person who might have "looked back" and tried
to restore some shred of our National dignity in the face of the torture and illegal wiretapping etc etc etc etc
