Sans investment in the system, they turn to violence to acquire what they need. Look to the early ’30s for illumination of this reality, and read the contemporary arguments leading up to passage of the Social Security Act in ’35 to see the outline of what we may inherit -- the same hell they sought to avoid by passage of a compassionate act.
