9. interesting sponsor that site has
Weiner must resign dot com. They say this

"Congress should represent the best in America, not the worst. Our representatives should be people we look up to, not despise. They should teach our children the right lessons, not the wrong ones.

Congress is too important. The issues our country is facing are too important. Honesty and integrity are too important."

And I am thinking - if that is true, then my Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins should resign. She's told at least as many lies as Weiner and she lies about things that will actually affect the lives of Americans. Although, I also heard that she had an affair and that is why her husband divorced her right after she got elected. http://www2.ljworld.com/news/2008/nov/11/jenkins_husband_files_divorce/

Too bad there isn't a PI with some pictures that I could post on my website.

21. Undoubtedly from people who would cheer if the entirety of the legislative branch
were set alight tomorrow anyway - making them every bit the liar they decry.

3. So why do so many think he's so great?
Anthony Weiner has sponsored 191 bills since Jan 6, 1999 of which 180 haven't made it out of committee and none were successfully enacted. Weiner has co-sponsored 1,908 bills during the same time period. (The count of enacted bills considers only bills actually sponsored by Weiner and companion bills identified by CRS that were themselves enacted, but not if they were incorporated into other bills, as that information is not readily available

5. So you weren't honestly asking what legislation he sponsored? You were looking for an opportunity...
...to slam him, whether or not someone gave you an answer? That seems like a rather cowardly tactic.

10. Do you know THOMAS?
I mean besides me - this one http://thomas.loc.gov/home/thomas.php

Right on the front page it says "Browse bills by sponsor"

To me though, it is more important to sponsor or co-sponsor good bills, even if they don't pass. Passing stuff is not the ultimate measure of success. After all, the Bush tax cuts, the Patriot Act, and the Iraq war resolution all passed. I wouldn't want them on my resume though. I mean what is worse a) voting to kill over 4,000 American soldiers, wound tens of thousands more, and kill or wound or displace millions of Iraqis or b) emailing a few pictures of my johnson?

That does not even look like a contest. One is a galaxy cluster and the other is a grain of sand, and yet people are pounding their fists on the table over b). It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world.

15. Yet once you found out, you still slammed him.
Edited on Sat Jun-11-11 01:55 AM by ClassWarrior
But it was an innocent slamming, right?

:eyes:

By the way, he's called Rep. Wiener. Should I call the woman in your avatar "Clinton?"

12. Sanders is my favorite senator, but few of his bills get enacted.
He is way in front of the pack.

I only know that Weiner makes great statements in the House and does not allow himself to be toyed with by Republicans.

That is enough for me in this time of wimps in the White House.

14. Have you looked at any other records?
What do you think of Marcy Kaptur eg?

Most Congress members who sponsor bills get very few out of committee.

That is not at all unusual, even for the big names in Congress.

Sponsoring bills is not necessarily the most important thing a member of Congress does.

What did he do for his district is a better question. Apparently his constituents are very happy with him.

Members of Congress also support the bills sponsored by others and work to get them passed.

20. If your sig line was clear, I wouldn't have sincerely asked for an explanation.
And thus I see you clearly, now, and understand why you've been classified such that you are.

Your thread's been a colossal waste of time.

No need to respond. Peace out.

23. Right. After your refusal to answer 2x, I opine you are not looking for honest dialogue, and you...
say I'm looking for a fight? Are you kidding me?

A search on your user name and responses thereto show your history on DU is one full of conflict with other users. You are seemingly incapable of having a respectful dialogue with your peers on DU, and therefore, you are now on my ignore list.

Goodbye. *plonk*

24. You want respectful dialog - pray tell
what is so hard to understand about my sig line. We have a President. In my opinion he's not a strong leader. Caves to Republicans at every turn.
