Yesterday there was a little known court hearing on prop 8.
Edited on Wed Jun-15-11 09:43 AM by William769
By the end of the day the judge gave his ruling (lighting speed I might add) upholding the original judges ruling that Prop8 is UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

The powers to be have already filed an appeal to now have this judge overturned.

Wake up & smell the rainbow flowers because it's coming and IMHO the way your fighting this one case is going to end up making the ban in all States that have this gross injustice UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

On edit: Judges ruling yesterday was to uphold the original judge on not recusing himself.

1. Good news but I disagree that it was "little known."
I actually saw it on local and national news several times yesterday and DU had it up in LBN by about 2:00 pm PST:

I'm actually glad that it's going through the courts as it needs to be declared unconstitutional so we won't have to keep fighting this issue state by state.

3. I was certainly aware of that decision.
It is still my hope that the entire issue will be settled on constitutional grounds. Anything less can be altered at any time by any state. It needs to be a constitutional issue.

4. Sorry, he didn't uphold the unconstitutionality of Prop8
All he did was rule that the first judges sexual orientation was not sufficient grounds to vacate the original order. He was not ruling on the constitutionality of Prop 8 at all.

6. It was still a good thing and helps our cause, but
another important ruling yesterday came from the bankruptcy court in CA, in which 20 judges unanimously ruled that DOMA is unconstitutional. That's huge.
