Apparenty, even 80% of the Netroots Nation straw poll respondents approve of Obama.
http://www.rollcall.com/news/Netroots-Nation-Straw-Poll-Obama-206608-1.html

"Despite their grousing about the administration during the Netroots Nation conference, liberal activists and bloggers are relatively happy with President Barack Obama's performance.

A straw poll conducted by Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research showed that 80 percent either approve or strongly approve of the president more than a year before voters head to the polls to decide whether he deserves a second term. The results broke down to 27 percent strongly approving of Obama and 53 percent approving “somewhat.” Thirteen percent said they “somewhat disapprove,” and 7 percent strongly disapprove of the president.

The poll of 519 people was conducted via iPad in the Minneapolis Convention Center on Thursday, Friday and Saturday."

2. People who base their votes on what someone said to them on
an internet forum are morons.

:eyes: Let me guess, you're one of those internet posters who thinks "people who disagree with my must be getting paid to do so!", the epitome of narcissism.

8. No, I'm one of those people who don't belive that anyone could be paying
you and your friends to drive away voters.

And YES, you need the "moron" votes, as much
as Rahm needed the fucking retards in 2010.

mad on an internet forum, you're not too bright.

4. I see it differently.
Maybe the Obama "boosters" will learn something from this.

And back off.

We KNOW there's no viable alternative to the republicans.

Your constant demands for conformity with right-wing policies will lose some Democratic votes, however, out of pure contempt.

13. Re-read it. Carefully.

I REALLY don't want Democrats holding back from participation in the election. I fear that's exactly what happened in 2010 with disastrous result.

Further, as we know, Republican and "Third Way" policies have driven the country to the edge. And likely pushed independents to the vote for the right in 2010 because they wanted "change".

5. Approving "somewhat" is not what I'd call support.
Ridiculous spin. Even I would have checked off "somewhat" approve and I think he is little more than Republican-lite.

20. It was a very small sample size, 519, with 53% saying they "somewhat approve".
Not great news for Obama. But, it certainly could be worse.

In the end, voters like the kind at Netroots Nation have nowhere else to go.

23. The sample size was close to 25% which is not bad at all..
But it was a self-selected 25% so the confidence level in the results might not be as high as you might otherwise think.

24. Whatever "approve" means to the self-selected respondents
And of that whopping 80%, it's only 27% who "strongly" approve. The rest? Well, "somewhat" approve could be based on a single issue where the administration hasn't been a colossal disappointment (e.g., torture, secret prisons, continuing and expanding wars), or it could mean that the alternative - President McCain - is still such a scary notion that anything looks good by comparison.

I'm thinking these poll results are only slightly less useful than the electrons used to post them.
